  1. Live and studio, two different worlds ๐Ÿ‘ Defo FL or FL-alike in the studio, very un-Clayton either way
  2. The Troubles on Songs of Innocence sounds very fretless to me?
  3. ......and if it is genuine, I imagine it will resurface at a significantly higher price in the near future ๐Ÿ‘
  4. That's the truth ๐Ÿ‘
  5. Well, they did, as per the two in the Geddy Lee book ๐Ÿ‘ But yes, it's a mystery bass, I'd didn;t take too close a look at it just assumed it was modified to a greater or lesser degree ๐Ÿ‘
  6. Either I'm going mad or they revised the listing, but when I first saw it I'm sure it was listed at 1980. It being 1970, mint, and apparently rare, means it's probably not the latter and has been modified/refinished. Either that or a buyer got very lucky ๐Ÿ‘
  7. Ha ha, no not on your setlist But just in case.....
  8. I hope whoever paid ยฃ5K did their homework, my gut instinct when I saw the price tag was 'I'd need a lot of provenance before paying that'. Might be a one-off in early FCS model, might be one of a very short factory run, but in either of those cases I'd expect a price tag significantly uphill of ยฃ5k, after all plenty of mint condition but otherwise standard instrument from that era get quite close to that figure as it is.
  9. Love to ๐Ÿ‘ I have further good news, I just heard some fretless (surprised me as well), that's gotta be another two basses?
  10. That makes sense, thanks. Rattle & Hum feels very American at times also ๐Ÿ‘
  11. Inspired by this thread, I'm listening to U2 today, and have to say what a damn fine listen it is, especially if you're a fan of solid power bass playing. It might just be the random playing order, but I'd never noticed before just how Americana they sounded mid-late 80s? Great gig though @police squad, I'm going to try to get to the Kent leg ๐Ÿ‘
  12. There's a little part of me that still gets angry about it ๐Ÿ˜ก
  13. Nashville, wow ๐Ÿ‘
  14. No, youโ€™ll need six, flats and rounds for each of the above ๐Ÿ‘
  15. Mesa Subway, California pedigree, light as a feather ๐Ÿ‘
  16. It's gonna be a while mate, it's quite a set list to learn ๐Ÿ‘
  17. ...although @Linus27 clearly does ๐Ÿ‘
  18. Been here a while, price drop to ยฃ1500 for the BC massive ๐Ÿ‘
  19. This has been up a while and Iโ€™ve spent rather more than I should have on a bass recently so how about ยฃ600 for this lovely thing, something of an early Christmas gift for yโ€™all ๐Ÿ‘
  20. You clearly do not understand what Basschat is about ๐Ÿค”
  21. A lot of people dislike bono and write off the band for their association. U2 are without doubt one of the all time greats, their longevity and back catalogue are extraordinary. Listening to Boy and War seems like another lifetime they're so long ago, but both still powerful albums
  22. Interesting and not wrong, but competition/diss tracks are part and parcel of hop-hop culture, and at times are really creative and entertaining (probably not in the most recent example of this case). I guess the reason I posted this is that I wonder what sort of precedent a legal decision might set for retrospective legal action by artists regarding previous examples recorded at a time at which artists generally saw 'dissing' as part and parcel of the recording game and simply shrugged it off or recorded a repost (Young and Skynyrd being great examples)?
  23. Canโ€™t disagree with any of that Nik ๐Ÿ‘
  24. I suspect if we look at the lyrics of a lot of songs, undercurrents re bandmates or rival bands will appear ๐Ÿ‘
  25. Now you have the gig this is a no-brainer https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176614163712?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=FOG9Z1W2SD2&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=155UlNbXQGW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
