  4. I guess this is the flip side of Fender’s conservatism 🤔
  5. Sorry yes I meant 5ths of course, same as 'cello 🤔
  6. And thanks for the helpful posts above folks, I'd completely forgotten about this thread 🤔
  7. It's a fair point, but I think you'e missing something @51m0n, understanding of how to use the VSTs! Thanks for your input above, I'm in the UAD environment, what do you think of this as a starter of the multi-band compression journey? https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/mastering/precision-multiband.html
  8. You could tune your bass in 4ths like a 'cello?, there's a few string tension guides online that would help you get it right, although I'm not sure whether it's going to be as easy with a SS as it would with a 34"
  9. We used to have a Uke player did the same, novelty wore off quite quickly however
  10. Which should of course should correctly called the Fender Pretender 70's Preissue Series
  11. At least he admitted it, I did two gigs with a guitarist who was playing a major chord at the beginning of Hotel California and kept denying it was him, despite the fact that even when the other guitarist dropped out there it was…..
  12. Reminds me of a great gig we did ‘That wasn’t the right change for ABC’ ‘We weren’t playing ABC….’ Talented players like me and @Happy Jackcan play two songs at the same time 👍
  13. Years of bad pick habits have finally caught up with you Jack. And you thought you'd got away with it
  14. Part of the problem playing with a pick is that your brain has to unlearn playing with fingers for a while, just keep at it, it'll come 👍
  15. And the Fender Boulevard Worn for our Gallic cousins 👍
  16. The Fender Pretender 70's RI Series Specially designed by the Fender Custom Shop to fool people into thinking that you've bought a faker - that's almost good enough to pass as a 70's original but isn't - when in fact it is a REAL FENDER CUSTOM SHOP BASS!!!! Imagine the fun you'll have when your smug muso friends beach behind your back about how little you know about vintage basses, only for you to whip out the Fender Pretender Certificate of Inauthenticity, detailing the list of features that any muso worth their salt knows, simply never came out of Corona in the 70's Special features include Total weight of bass less than 12lbs Neck pocket same size as the neck heel Strings pass over the pole pieces Bass is playable
  17. ... and having done a little more exploration, I imagine it would make a rather tasty recording amp, the tone even at low levels is glorious
  18. I think you'll find that's the Custom Shop Remission Bass 🤔
  19. Sadly this isn’t going to work for me, which is a shame as it’s a killer neck. Good luck with the sale 👍
