  1. Well I sincerely hope that it's not stolen, and it's nice to think someone other than a dealer got a real bargain. Had it been pre-lockdown I'd have bought it, but my dopaminergic lust for rare and beautiful gear has been tempered of late and life is somewhat easier as the result! More objectively, I doubt the owner of that business is daft, they sell a lot of expensive gear, so I suspect it's either a ringer or there's an issue, which could be anything from mechanical to legal I'd guess. I suspect either way it'll be for sale somewhere at a significant mark up very soon. And if so, I wonder if the seller will use that classic "Selling my trusty old Ric, been with me since 1978" line 🤔
  2. Hard to say Pete, sometimes these things are actually what they seem, a seller who doesn't know the value of something but needs cash, and a bloody lucky buyer. Sometimes they're not of course 🤔

  4. Crikey, that's a decent drummist 👍
  5. Sadly no, I'm hearing distinct and quite punchy percussive elements in some of the upper register notes, for example at 36-39 seconds in? I'm playing through MacBook speakers so not the best, but then other people will probably use similar
  6. And as we all know, those very words in 99% of cases lead directly to the purchase of the item in question 🤔
  7. Outstanding playing, very well done. Sorry to say however that I'm 100% with @JakeBrownBass, the tone - at least on my computer - detracts significantly from the performance, I find it distorted in an unmusical way, with what appear to be recording artefacts in some of the upper register notes. I'll listen with headphones later, but even if it's better in that medium - and reflecting the comment from @lowdown above that if listened to on monitors I might hear it very differently - to my mind if you want people to listen to and share your work, it's important to get the recorded tone to work across devices if you can. But hey, it's not all bad, I'd kill to have the patience and skill to learn and perform those pieces. I had to play one of the suites for Grade V on a 'cello and it was a several hours per day task to learn, and even then I needed the sheet music in front of me 👍
  8. In response to a couple of questions here's some infor re the PUPs. Essentially you are able to use any combination of Jazz, Precision, and MM PUPs (well, any combination of those three variants in either front or back position). It is a VERY versatile instrument https://www.sims.guitars/pickups/super-quad
  9. There's a lot of it around at the moment, the universe told me to buy some stuff last week, and when the universe talks to you, best you listen 👍
  10. Defo my favourite unit at present but also the one that will get me the most cash at a point in time at which I need to gather funds to convert an outbuilding into a music room/studio. I've got a few other things up for sale including a Mesa WD-800 so I'll probably either keep that or this depending which sells, but given that I also own three other heads - including an M-Pulse 600 - and two other cabs at present, I'm not short on volume boxes but am short on spare cash! Photos courtesey the lovely folks in Cardiff from who I bought the beast, still looks exactly the same having been gigged only once since 👍 By comparison with the previous Mesa series the user interface is far simpler but to my mind equally effective, especially the preset voice function Also comes with the original Mesa Engineering cover No trades thanks, collection or delivery in London/SE, this is not a small or light unit. It is a monster in all respects 👍
  11. I'm putting this back up for sale as I'm about to start work converting an outbuilding into a music room which, having spoken to the architect in the week, is going to cost a lot more than we'd originally estimated. I'm also getting back my old fretless Jazz with Precision neck which make it a lot easier to let this go. I've dropped the price by £250 for two reasons, firstly because I'd like to get started on the work, and secondly to reflect the fact that the bass is passive, albeit highly versatile (it's still running the SIMS Quad pickups and LEDs, but the tone circuit is a standard passive Jazz circuit. Note I have no hard case for this either so I would prefer collection or a meet up in SE or London, although I can also pack very well in a double boxed outer shell for a courier. No trades thank you, cold hard cash is what's required at present 👍
  12. That M-2000 has been sitting around eBay at 200% real value for a long time, if you buy it and don’t like it be prepared to make a serious loss
  13. I always look forwartd to your listings @Rabbie as you have such great taste in DB gear. Wish my finances would stretch to give these a go 👍
  14. What a great clip, really interesting I had no idea GS was in The Lorax however......
