1. Only thing I'd add is a rosewood board, you should keep it n add flatwounds if it doesn't have em already.
2. I said I did like the colour, its sunburst/tort and rosewood. I don't like the standard natural maple one which is usually £850 give or take. There was a chap with a lake placid blue matching headstock one with rosewood that was £1100 recently also.
3.
Lol, cheers for giving people an alternative, when im only looking for an estimate of how much its worth!
End of the day mate its your bass and you can sell it for what you like regardless - on here its going to be well researched before purchase, you'd be a moron to fork out £1400 on a whim or you'd have to have a soft spot for it. It says the bass was sold in July this year, so there won't be a great change anyway. You don't want an opinion, don't ask for it.
4. Out of interest what colour is the neckplate? I thought it was black but it looks kinda pearloid-ish
5. If its second hand, £1400 is too steep - I would just buy a custom shop one and look past yours. Despite being a lovely bass, I don't like the natural ones.
6. Damn, got excited thinking it was that 8 string job, hagstrom gets me everytime
7. Anybody want this before I relist it again??
8. Fair play to you for sticking that out, I got hammered on my first sales thread. Won't make that mistake again lol Goodfellow a company!? Blasphemy! Whatta tw*tt I was...
9.
Exactly how light?
The previous seller said it was 9lbs
10.
Peavey T-40? Hot and gainy as you want
I'd need to try one out, I've never even seen one in the flesh - must be hard to find. I have heard of a lot of praise for them though!
11.
Hi Oli ,a Vigier Excess sounds very close to a Ric even Roger Glover plays one to get his clank back, If your over my way you can have a go on mine and they have a superb neck as all Vigiers have. There's one for sale here too nice colour IMO- http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=110594451633
I love Vigier!!! LOVE!!! I think you've probably nailed it, just gotta raise the funds . Tried Vmaxblues' old arpege, beautiful despite the weird looks. The newer ones look a great deal better just haven't found a finish I like - I'll keep my eye on that, cheers Si
12.
Have you tried an Aria SB oli? I am not saying that it would sound like a Rick but they are great to play and if you get one with an untapered neck, you maybe half way there. BTW, cant believe you were going to the dark side, or should i say the spot-lit side of the stage!
Haha, I still want to after forking out a grand on the Charvel <<< I've also got a great semi acoustic which can pull off Van Halen to Lynyrd Skynyrd stuff with the greatest of ease!! I've only tried a couple of Aria's but I know they're in a similar vein as the great build Cort/Ibanez/warwick ultra playable arena. I tend to use flatwounds and fingers for the percussion but its the gainy vintage pickups I like. Don't know anything that has best of both worlds at a budget, probs what turned me off bass.

HOT

Hi Guys, I may be coming back to bass it seems as my rig won't sell, however if I do it will require a very hot percussive sound. What pedal would you recommend for that old fashioned rickenbacker sound and what bass. I really miss my EB3 I know my ideal bass would be a rickenbacker with a thin neck but there isn't much change for that with my budget. Advice please! Go crazy
14. Would look fine with the later period ashtrays too! You've got some lovely stuff 7enderhead
15. I've managed to find em after a lot of surfing, I wanted to put them on a mary kaye coloured p bass with tortoise shell pickguard and gold hardware. Yeah it was an american company that did it
16. +1 fantastic build. All it needs for me is some gold pickup covers.
17. Not for me
18. I'm a massive charvel fan, their guitars aren't one trick only and the playability/quality is fantastic value for money. I will one day gloat about my masterbuilt on here as soon as theres a fan base lol
19. This is gonna finish soon, still hasn't gone - the mind boggles. Why are there so many watchers for a 'buy it now' item??
20. Love the blue rickenbacker, super sweet!
21. Why would you sell this you crazy man!? I would love to own this, great price too!
22.
MB1. ...This does not Surprise me!
Haha, twas a wicked find on your part, after that I really fancied one of the new retro Jazz models G&L are making. If you get Andy Travis' Ric you'll have to let me know about the necks! I've never plucked up the courage to buy one blind ...but the sound is definately me!
23.
Bit of a tangent here so sorry for the derail...but some very nice samples there of 'vintage' tones in the links you provided. For that, have a bump
Thanks, its the swiss army knife off bass amps
24. Thats a low price. I'd rather have the actual ricky electronics and hardware as opposed to Ibanez's version and the truss rod cover is just the icing on the cake for me. Are the wings maple too? I can't see the grain too well but the neck definately is.
