1. I think it'll sell just fine solely by his enthralling charisma - everyone loves being called stuff like 'mate' and 'bruv' etc...it also opens up the oppurtunity for a dead arm.
2. Proof theres nothing wrong with a two point trem bridge
3. awesome colour, just needs some fag burns lol
4. There was one like that with a matching headstock and had an abalone plate that made it look wicked
5. Yeah I don't like clear perspex either, a white one and ashtrays would set that off dandy. I'm tempted even though I'm supposed to be giving up bass - I'll see if my amp sells or not first.
6. Never seen one of these before +1 on fretless fletchers questions
7. Good i'm glad! Pretty sure 'Rayman' was using the same setup as me too, a winning combo! You'll have to let me know what its like if you try it with flatwounds - I never got round to it but i'm betting it may even be better.
8. Looks the biz doesn't it? haha! Well looked after too I wish I my church had a band . I was kinda using it for bedroom practice . Works well at low volumes as well plus its light and small so I didn't mind or need anything else! I think its 1200 watt bigger brother is a lil extreme however unless you end up playing for someone like U2. Took me 5 years to realise it was my amp that was the reason behind my basses displeasing me tone wise - musta gone through about 15 beginner/intermediate/ pro basses before I found the Genz...(and your bang for buck G&L ) If you watch that Ed Friedland chap reviewing all those different basses on youtube he uses a benz, does the lot. I'm definately taking it into account when I eventually buy my guitar amp - its 80% of the setup easy. This will be funding that :brow:
9. All i'm thinking is that dick, Robert Trujillo's gonna end up playing one. Its going to be only the mega, popular bands that can afford them. I think your very lucky if you got a 2nd one prior to this because the people buying the new ones are gonna take a mammoth hit on em. I think if you wanna go that good just get a GB and have done with it. I think Fodera are great, the chap from Jethro Tull plays one but you gotta buy your instrument within reason - they ain't Stratovarious. Stratovarious is a company that would appeal to an Indian Princess/Celebrity etc. not Fodera.
10. American made! Difficult to find from UK dealers... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genz-Benz-Bass-Ampli...=item230a73da00
11. Just quickly like to add I'm not putting the older gothic stuff down, I know that plays beautifully too - the looks just weren't for me.
12. Has anybody seen or heard one of these?? If their basses are anything like their guitars it'll be fantastic! I've owned my ESP guitar the longest out of everything i've owned and the price has jumped on it year after year. Incredible build quality/tone and playability if you can get past the unorthodox metal looks. Very versatile and great value for money, they're going up. I reckon ESP is going to rival G&L and the Lakland Skylines soon IMHO. They've recently been making improvements on vintage-esque guitar/bass models and its working. Got a conservative rock traditionalist like me psyched!! http://www.espguitars.com/basses_phoenix.html I bet you it balances properly too...
13. That big Al's gotta go quick, love the bongo too...although I've heard great things of the 25th! Three crackers there.
14. Cliff Burton...um...No
15. Bump for my as new, bedroom use only genz benz. Half the price of a new one.
16.
MB1. ...Gather you meant RHCP?...Oli?.......Now Theres a Flea in you ear!........................................................Coat Collected!.
Ach, never liked em anyway lol, when it comes to Stingrays I always reach for my Brother Johnson CD
17. GUTTED!! Damn you Genz Benz 750...New laptop/bass instead I guess
18. And the proof its Greg Lake's is!!...up his arse
19. If that were a sunburst that showed the grain, whatta bass!
20. If I were bigger, i'd see this as a bargain - even with import. I want a mini one
21.
the scale length on the low string is 36" as pointed out by chris2112, i measured the length of the strings on my other basses the rotosound 66s and the elite players werent quite long enough but i think the elite stadiums were just about there, i might order some if no one has any more suggestions.
I could buy your Kubicki and carry on with the mission?
22. Genz Benz!! Versatile, light and reliable. Only criticism i've heard is that they have the ability to make a poorly built/quality bass sound truly sh*te and a well built one sound fantastic. My G&L L2000 tribute sounded particularly fantastic through mine. Try em oot!
23.
You're welcome We'll be at The Globe in Cardiff in early December! Come, say Hi!
...I live across the road from the Globe!! Not so many people would see me if I joined in the facepaint fun  . I reckon if anyone were to dare play my guitar in the avatar live it would probably be Mr Frehley
24.
I used it in a band scenario, not very loud though, and I just don't think it sounded as good. How different are Jazzes and P Basses? I'd love to try all these out but I don't have much chance to The sound I'm after if your typical pop/rnb bassy bass sound... can't explain really
Jazz cuts through better but it could be your amp?? I bought/traded about 20 basses before I upgraded my amp 80% of the setup is that to me.
