1. Any trades for the lot or for the Charvel or Cirrus? If anyones giving up guitar, I can add a mint a1 genz benz 750 with cab, pedals, covers, cables etc and roland cube30
2. I really don't get Metallica at all, nothing else matters is a good song though I recognise that. Never expected to see Jaco's instrument in Trujillos hands, I'd prefer it if it was in a museum and the guys from Gospel chops brought it out for a bass festival or something. I don't think its benefitted the pastorius family at all, RT owns it w***in about on stage looking like a monkey, did I mention I don't get metallica? Vastly overrated and I'm a heavy metal fan. Urrgh, I'm annoyed. If you listen to 'The Essential Jaco Pastorius' CD you'll see why, from genius to retard - Pastorius used to leave me cold when I first heard him but listen to that...then St. Anger...
3. Somebody buy this please, I don't like looking at it or imagining what it sounds like. Set o flatwounds and roll it onto its neck pickup and that would be incredible, love fretless
4. Naturally, I have to be the knob'ead that says he likes the Infinity . Someone should attempt a PX for the 86 and 87, would be horrible to split them up.
5.
Well, to be fair the G&L has been replaced by an amazing Aria, and that is stopping the Fender being played. Would like to see some pics Schnoz. '78 to late for you?
Cirrus vs Aria would be a good youtube comparison for the Duran fans! Aww poor G&L, I love the Super P sound too much I think. I sure do have some pics just PM me a convenient Email Addy and they'll be coming your way. Ahh the '78 is a spanner in the works
6.
That Cirrus looks lurvley. Always fancied one of these.
Pretty stunning finish wise, mine just a 4 string version of that. I'd recommend trying one out, you'd be just as pleased with it as your G&L! Glad to see your keeping the '78, sounds great on your myspace recordings
7. WITHDRAWN
8. Cheers MB1! Don't suppose theres a guitar version of basschat? It would go much quicker on there I reckon
9. Withdrawn! Amazed.
10. Its gonna be another week until I can consider posting this one guys. I'm glad its not a bike lol! I'm still thinking about keeping it, the woodgrains purdy. I can imagine a sub being less warm with more punch, this is more of a high output Phat P/J bass but does R'N'B nicely . Also does a passive style P/J (the bass is not active)
11. Its a Gibson EB-1....
12. Maple looks best, feels better - but its all about the sound! Rosewood is better, gotta have some warmth on a jazz. If your a slap guy pick graphite. Rosewood looks better on vintage instruments.
13.
MB1. ...This be the one you should keep Oli ...Lovely Bass!...wouldnt mind having it back!...alas" Stingray Says...NO!"... (wallet is in also in agreement!)
Haha it is tempting, I may well do. The electronics are phenomenal, but its either this or the USA Cirrus. G&L's are better in the mix I feel.
14. Is a sadowsky tokyo the same as a metro?
15. Hi BCers, Got this in a trade from MB1 a the start of the year, wouldn't mind keeping it: A particularly nice G&L L2000 Tribute - looks like an older version (No made in Indonesia sign!). Its natural swamp ash with a hard rock maple neck and fretboard with that all important 21st fret. Its surprisingly light 8lbs-ish! The electronics are the same as the USA model with the big active/passive which I love, favourite electronics to date. Swirling in the pop zone and a mark above the heel. Comes with hardshell case and new strings. Punches well above its weight, very versatile. Nothing else to say. Full review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT4AP58jC5o £350 collected from Cardiff or £365 Posted, price is firm - I'd rather keep it for any less! No trades. Bank Transfer/Cheque only. No Paypal. P.S Apologies to MB1 for using his photos
16. I've had the pleasure of seeing a Gibson original!! I never knew Epiphone did a reissue, they should make a Gibson reissue - I'd buy one. As a Jack Bruce fan, this appeals to me alot!
17. I've never had the pleasure of playing a Jazz other than an American Standard in Cranes Cardiff. They can't set up basses for sh*t so I wasn't impressed. Quietly spectating, I'd trust Bubinga5 on this one - he's probably tried every Jazz lol.
18. Been on since October last year!! Now at rock bottom price, how humiliating for such a great guitar...makes me sad.
19. What strap do you use with it? Its not that heavy I guess
20. Rosewoods a harder board than maple for starters, so less wear. 78's are more common too (I think!) Personally, I think you should give a couple o months worth of play to see if you like it first. You got TI's on it so your already half way lol.
21. I put up whatever price breaks even or would please me first, buyer second. I'd expect that as a buyer too. Only when i'm in financial trouble will I drop it below. If it takes someones fancy, they'll pay for it without making a lower offer - I always seem to do that with Charvel gear  . Also I dont think a fretless should be worth less than a fretted ever. Getting it fretted is criminal, I started on a fretless and the feel/sound is beautiful but I wouldn't play it exclusively, half the time though at least. Fretless P's create my favourite tone, I reckon I could manage the neck too. Question is P retro or no P retro?? Lovely bass, would pitch an offer if I could own more than one I love S/R/T finishes...and lamp
22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABLwmYI09Lw Thought it was worth getting Molan's vid in the thread to give people an idea of the sound!! Fantastic price, I do like super precisions - there should be more! Tempted... BUMP
23. Wasn't me either! I dithered too much about the looks. I need to try a couple o status' not sure whether all graphite or an S2 would be good for me
