1. 15 by the age of 21 and after 5 years of playing. I'm keeping one. I may have a problem.
2.
MB1. ...Your hands are definately too small for this!
Haha thats what I'll keep tellin myself Marty...the guy who owns its called Oliver too!! Salt in the wound
3. Hit me with trades and PXs too or it'll be on Ebay. Fantastic bass - but I don't have hands big enough for a five string I guess, unless its really tight at the nut and has 24 frets - as I say small hands .
4. How heavy is it?
5. Jeebus, whoever buys this I hate them.
6. I've just found Jaco's honky Jazz tone fiddling about with the volume and tone controls when switched to the the bridge position. Consider it withdrawn, its a keeper. 1st one!! Also Hoyer's new line is coming out soon so value might go up, I intend to buy a new model - I suggest you do too.
7.
So do I, but I still have a hankering for this, which would give me red & green L2500's. They are such great basses and do sound so good. Now then, a few weeks working from home and saving £70 diesel a week...........hmmmmmmmm
Can't think of a better backup to compliment a red fretted G&L L2500 than a fretless green and ebony of the same model . All the finishes on the USA's are so varied!! Would be keen to see piccies
8. It switches from bridge humbucker to neck humbucker to both to single coil neck and single coil bridge as well as mute. The pickup spacing is huge so theres quite a range my local guitar tech loved it, when he was checking it out - he owns a lot of Hoyer gear. Fantastic intonation and ultimately comfortable, no finger stretching here. He showed me some more tone settings fiddling about with the rotaries - gimme a week and might find some more.
9. Rosewood blocked necks look far far better than maple. Theres not that many rosewood blocked 78 around.
10.
Wouldn't want to disappoint. Make up your own "Check out that arse, and Denise Lewis too" jokes....
Haha! Denis Lewis is better looking but Molan's picture shows a better arse . Gordon Brown cracks me up - Dr. Frankenstein's unwanted monster, difficult to be angry at a social retard. He giggled his way through that debate last night it was brill, politics aside. G&L anyone?? lol
11. bargain mind, scary or not.
12. You should trade for a SR5 and if you don't like that trade for the quilted top USA G&L also in the for sale thread with the Jazz profile neck. Thats what you need but unfortunately the owner is looking for trades only at current but it ticks all your boxes IMHO anyway...
13. Nice finish, never really like the purpleheart one. I really like that, I think they're meanna be really light too!
14.
MB1. Hope thats a label?... showing above the right buttock!.
Haha I think it was the sticky tape holding up the dress, its sagging a little on the right - the dress not her ass. Tis firm indeed! Could crack a few walnuts...
15. Thanks for the info Tom, definately an option, I know they'll do a pro job. Yikes £400 is a lil over what I'd be willing to pay for the whole guitar!! I was estimating around £300 but I see i'm very wrong. Hope your keeping well Bob!
16. Ahh thats nice, did you pick it up from Si (Geddy's Nose)?
17. PM's replied!
18. Best finish in my opinion, I think Stingrays are probably the only bass where maple sounds better than rosewood. I love that, slap a white pearloid plate on it and away! Easy sell n the dink is nothing.
19.
Aren't they both the 51? I thought it came in both those colour schemes. Anyway, I'd get the sunburst and change the pg out for a black one.
+1, although the butterscotch is very Skynyrd
20. G&L L2500 has my vote value/versatility wise unless your looking for something more expensive. The Shuker PJ might be calling in the for sale forum??
21. Hey BCers, I was considering getting a refinish or a paintjob and was wondering who you would recommend for them and how much they cost. I would like a high quality job done, I've been checking out local art student for paintjobs but glossing and things like that I'm not sure where to go... Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers Oli Matt
