Just bought a 1978 Guild B301 from Greg (Shaggy) this morning, its sweeeeet!! Quick trade, no hassle, cracking price, free strings, well looked after bass and offered to let me come try it out beforehand. I had stinging hangover, the shakes and swayin a little; he didn't even point it out, proper gentleman . I'm going to be keeping my eye on the stuff he's putting up for sale, real unusual USA rock relics at a fantastic price. Currently up a USA BC Rich Eagle and Fender 70s Fretless P!! Both at which I took a shot a trading . Would love to do a deal again in the future. Cheers Greg

Looking for an "80s as hell" bass... probably headless!
Schnozzalee replied to JayX's topic in Bass Guitars
Cant get more eighties than a Kubicki or a Goodfellow.... -
Its back up for £675 plus half the postage through paypal. Just to note anybody selling anything on ebay and paypal take 13.4%!!! I had to make up some extra damage just so no one would buy it. Would rather move it on to a basschatter for a cheaper price thats a lil more than what I would get on the bay.

Is there any demand for one of these at the moment? Lil apprehensive, only up as my Kubicki won't sell, but need a new laptop plus £250 quids worth of Uni books: My High Quality 1985 Goodfellow Classic Custom, Serial no. 0030 and checked with Bernie Goodfellow to be an original. Has the looks, playability and tone. Looks like what the GB Rumour model was based on. The bass has a quilted maple top and spalted/quilted maple back, with a slab of walnut in between bound by mahogany. The neck is 34" five piece mahogany/maple with a 21 frets ebony fingerboard, bound again by mahogany which carries on to cover the headstock. The bass has custom Goodfellow Gold hardware with his surname engraved into the bridge and 'classic' upon the truss rod cover. The bass has 'g' engraved into the machineheads and has messacre ebony tuning pegs. The headstock bears the 'G' symbol and has 'made in England' underneath. The pickups are kent armstrong custom wound with wooden ebony covers boasting a thumb groove for easy playing. 5 rotary knobs : Volume, bass, mid, treb and pickups balancer. Active bass requiring two batteries for its silly amount of power (i only use it up halfway tops) and ability to switch to passive. Can play anything, very versatile. Recently setup by Cardiff Guitars: relubricated, electronics cleaned, action set low with no bend in the neck etc. ALSO!! Don't ask me about string spacing as its adjustable, just screw the grooves round, widen it up for slap and narrow it down for fingerstyle. Comes with hardshell professional plush hardshell protec case case, as made for orchestra instruments and a custom made John Edwards leathercraft polished brass engraved buckle strap. Seen these go for anything from £800 to £1500. No Longer for sale but will consider all trades.
Have a Bump matey I'm guessing that's not you and this bass in the clip?
Nah lol, thats not me! I'm a skinny white guy. The sound in that clip i'm guessing its the passive jazz tone, if its the active- that boy needs a new amp. Should be much more dynamic, unfortunately this was the only key factor soundclip I can find, it has the same tone and electronics as the Ex factor.

Hi Basschatters, I need help! (again). I recently purchased a Guitar off of ebay and the cases locks had been forcibly damaged and no longer works! Nor does it have keys (surprise surprise, this was not mentioned in the item description). The case is molded to the rare 1980s Charvel-Jackson Star (with graphic) which I now own so a replacement is impossible. My question is: Where would I go to get the locks on the case changed for a new set?? I can only think of a locksmith, but i think it's a little bit more specialist. If anyone has a better idea please tell me! Cheers Oli Matt
