Danger is you sound rather unfamiliar with the rights and wrongs of plugging in stuff. A spare speakon is definitely not an open invitation to plug in another amp as in most cases that would blow up both amps. If you can completely disconnect the Trace amp from the cab then it is just a cab and you can plug your amp into it. Otherwise hell no with a side of fuggedaboudit.

Years ago there was a similar epic grimace immortalized as a "smiley" on TalkBass. "Atoz" was short for an expression of dismay.

The thing about open mics is Forrest Gump might well show up before Donald Trump. As the bass player you have to be prepared to sit one out as necessary. With a bit of experience it can be quite a wild ride accompanying trusting singer songwriters sounding like you had rehearsed for a week. Then come the 'man what are you doing here' comments. Some guitar players telegraph their chord changes. Some don't.

Akg P2 is the mic for the job. Cheap and near flat response to 5kHz.

Get an Akg P2.

A/B/Y pedals and blend pedals. Is this a viable setup?
Downunderwonder replied to lidl e's topic in Effects
180 switch is a phase reversal option that fully corrects a 180° phase inversion, keeping in mind some pedals are odd amount shifting. Phase is indeed an electronic phenomenon. If I understood it properly I might have become an electrical engineer. If you throw a tennis ball against the ground so it bounces against a wall and loops back to drop into your hand and threw another as it was hitting the wall then the two balls are out of phase with respect to their altitude 'signals' by crudely 180°. Ignoring the crudeness we could look at ideally thrown and bouncing balls... Now if your mate stands further back and throws his ball harder so it bounces higher but comes back to his hand at the same time as yours you are in phase and the sound of your ball has a higher pitch added on top of the original. But if instead your mate throws his up against the wall and it bounces back to him off the ground you get a cacophony of bounces. Importantly, unlike tennis balls bouncing the brain does not notice small discrepancies of phase when summing audio. Nor does it notice differences in phase reproduction across the spectrum. -
Likelihood of neck dive on an 8lb P Bass?
Downunderwonder replied to Mylkinut's topic in Repairs and Technical
Make it the original prototype "Boner P". -
This is the kind of question I try to avoid asking out of the gate as there must be a reason. But no response from OP so far makes it entirely appropriate. What the hell is the point of cutting off the power from time to time on your pedal board? I can only think that it's a ham fisted solution to unwanted noise on the clean channel.

A/B/Y pedals and blend pedals. Is this a viable setup?
Downunderwonder replied to lidl e's topic in Effects
The trouble with blending fx DIY is the fact that some fx return their signal distinctly out of phase from the clean input. An out of phase effected signal blended with the clean sounds like the backside of Satan himself served up with a side of week old offal. There are multi channel blenders that account for this with a 180 switch on the return. Have at it. -
Sucks to be right sometimes.

RIP already ongoing in General before being appended to the 2023 pile of prominent demises. And duly merged making for the mid thread nonsense. Shoulda just locked the duplicate OT.

Fender Boss to Fender Design Dept: "Let's have us a six string bass!" FDD: "That's gonna look like a cartoon next to the rest of our stuff". FB: "Do your best work". FDD: "Okay, you da Boss".

Step one is finding a builder. There's a few fine folk on here who might even volunteer a couple of evenings to slam them together. Does the UK do "men's" sheds? They are everywhere here. Staffed by old geezers volunteering handyman assistance with space and tools for DIY projects. Copying over the 410 specs to a pair of 210 is a trivial set of calculations. You will need to find some bug eye covers or grill material and some more corners and feet.

Gallien Krueger EQ optimally flat voicing?
Downunderwonder replied to Sparky Mark's topic in Amps and Cabs
I have found it immensely useful knowing the nominally flat settings on provided backline gigs. Plug in my pedal board and off to the races. -
You could put your speakers into a couple of custom 210 cabs for very little moola. Very easy to copy over the 410 porting and cab volume half and half for guaranteed result.
-
Doubtful you could do it without having a 240v hazard.
-
A regular 6 string bass would be BEADGC. Dunno what you are wanting with a top B.

I just knew there had to be Prunes & Custard on there. Beige says "suck on this and tell me you love me".

I am in heaven.

Most of the whole wide world manages quite fine with 34" scale. It's all about the strings and pickups.

Join the club. The only way I can do it is with 'stupid' amounts of repetitive practice. Then when it's action time it sounds like someone else is playing the bass while I am doing the harmony. It's the very defintion of an out of body experience, well worth the effort. Yet I can't call myself a singing bassist as I can hardly even talk over bassing!

Gallien Krueger EQ optimally flat voicing?
Downunderwonder replied to Sparky Mark's topic in Amps and Cabs
Could be my memory is faulty due to the knobs being donkey backwards from everything else. -
