Theres nothing actually wrong with it, Marcus had an offer of an Amp that he couldnt refuse Mart plays classic rock so preferred his US P-Bass and I also play in a covers band and in a toss up between the Lakland and my Fender P, I decided to keep the Fender as thats what I'm used to If you want a bass with great tonal adjustment and a bass that is punchy and can 'cut through' then this is the bass for you, especially one of this quality and has classic looks too Black / Black / Maple too ! If I could justify AND afford to keep three bass guitars I would, but I just cant afford to keep it. £500 needs to go back in the bank where it actually belongs. I robbed Peter to pay Paul and now Peter wants his money back !

I have decided to sell the Lakland Bob Glaub Skyline I bought off Mart a couple of weeks ago It was either keep the Lakland and sell my USA P-Bass or 'tuther way round ! After doing 4 gigs with the Lakky I've decided I like the simplicity of the P-Bass Thats not to say there is anything wrong with the the BG the tonal range of the Villex pickup is amazing If I could afford to keep both, I would if I could . . . but I cant ! It was never an option to keep both Link to : Original for sale ad by Marcus Will accept £475 Collection from Corby, Northants or possibly meet halfway for fuel Could accept Paypal of that helps spread the cost, but you would have to help with the charges ! I also have it for sale on Ebay at £525 see link for more pix etc eBay

The bass aint for sale at £450 ! I paid £470 and it cost me £30 fuel to collect it, hence the £500 - Thats if the price I paid actually has anything to do with anyone apart from Mart and myself, thank you very much The bass has been passed from pillar to post on this forum and I thought it best to put it out of its misery on Ebay. Yes the initial price was a bit hefty but why should I give it away? I can't afford to keep it hanging around as I said before I was to sell the Fender to fund the Lakky. This is the typical Bassworld / Basschat person bashing that gives this forum a bad reputation, I actually think some you you get off on it. As for the Fralin pup, its going in my Fender P-Bass for now until I decide what I am doing with it.

I was a bit embarrassed, its been through 3 or 4 people in as many weeks Thats got to get the alarm bells ringing, so I thought I'd put it on Ebay rather than have little or no interest here. I certainly wasnt going to put it on ebay for £500 ! The common factor here is that everyone who has owned this bass, have Fender P-Basses and this Lakland is NOT a P-Bass anymore to my ears If anyone is interested in the bass drop me a PM Toasted has offered some interest but havent heard from him again
Exactly
I bought this bass with the full intention of selling my USA P-Bass but i love my Fender P too much I like my Fender neck and the basic easy to get sound I said to Mart at the time I was only going to keep one or 'tuther I've done 4 gigs with the Lakland, thats approx 6 hours 'on stage' thats a fair blast ! There is nothing wrong with the bass at all the Villex is great but I suppose its more of a 'Ray tone than a P . . . and I know the price is higher than I paid, but hey I've got to try it on to start with, is it a sin? has anyone else ever bought a bass and sold it for more ?

Nice to meet you Mart Well so far so good, picked the Lakland up Saturday and did it first gig Saturday night ! A full 1 1/2 hour set straright through as well, so no messing about! I found the bass comfortable and didnt notice the extra weight The Villex pup is superb, nice and clear and plenty of tonal adjustment Once I got the hang of how it all works and alters the sound its superb I found it very punchy and with the mid boost could alter the amount of 'attack' to my sound All in all I'm very pleased, probably do a back to back with my P-Bass at some point . . . . . . . but I might have a Fender USA P-Bass with S1 in Butterscotch, black scratchplate and Maple neck up for sale soon.

Using a Hipshot D-tuner on the low B string
Adee replied to geilerbass's topic in Repairs and Technical
Should be fine The trick is when taking the Xtender lever back UP add some tension to the string by pulling the string out with your right hand around the the neck join. This will ensure the string is in tune. Dropping down is usually OK This should be the one HIPSHOT GB7 -
+1 But the distortion side has a mid scoop to it which may mean it will get lost in the mix
Suppose it depends how you have the EQ set, but then distorted bass always seems to go AWOL in the mix, solution usually to boost the level slightly when using it.

The MXR M-80 is very versatile as it has EQ / Blend & Distortion Good pedal when used in moderation
