You are correct sir! I also got him to make a custom 3 band pre amp. The pots are now neck pup vol with push pull for active/passive of the whole circuit, bridge pup vol, bass , mid, treble.
It sounds amazing now and I really like the pearl plate and wooden knobs now too.
Bass Pick-up Upgrades
Picked these up online for a good price.
A Tasty pair of Seymour Duncan Vintage Quarter Pounder P-Bass Pickups with nice cloth wire and looooooads of winding.
&
A hefty Seymour Duncan EB Stingray style Alnico Pickup.
This Frankenstein P-Bass with active pre-amp and a jazz neck is soon to become "The Green Machine"
Sure, it's a Tone Master 9 v circuit, 2 band eq with bass and treble boost/cut. The pup is a from a SUB Stingray. Sounds great as is, in the future maybe I could buy a SD quarter pounder P and an SMB-4 pickup to spoil myself, but so far I can't complain.
Wondered what a P bass would sound like with an Active EQ circuit and MM pup?
Me too.
Lockdown does strange things to us all.
Sounds great to be honest, very authentic P/J sound in passive.
Realllllly bright like an Ernie Ball in active mode.
Lots of low end too.
Nice jazz tones with a hefty thump with the bass and treble up
Great all rounder.
