  1. I should be able to AB the BF 110 against the GR AT 110. Will let you know as soon as I get through the dreaded lead times! How long was after ordering for you? I'm 9 days in!
  2. It's for a mix of little gigs all different but I got some IEM's that will be coming along for the ride when I need them for sure!
  3. I would have assumed it to be the case but I was interested to hear the opinion of someone who'd AB'd them.
  4. You say all the right things! Thanks again
  5. If it works out at 5kg I will be blown away. If it was just for electric bass I wouldn't look any further than the BF one10! That logo is awesome Stevie only just clocked it!
  6. If it easier to pitch with for whatever reason I'll be happy! If it's not I will try something else.
  7. The GR BASS AT 110 is £50 cheaper and 3.5 kg lighter than the BF one10T. I already have a super midget which sounds incredible so I have no need for something else of that kinda weight. The BF one10 is nearly perfect and I have no problem with 7kg but its just not amazing on my double bass set up for pitching/clarity. (most double bassists say the same) The barefaced one10 T maybe the best thing out there but at £499 and 5kg and I think potentially a more transparent modern sounding 10" I think its worth a go.
  8. just out of interest, the BF 210 compared to the AT 210 which one was more transparent sounding would you say?
  9. £499 from bass direct. Will let you know how I get on!
  10. I tried the bass cub I swapped it for a micromark 8" as I felt the markbass although fairly coloured was more audible and the PJB was unusably quiet. Would like to try some other stuff by them at some point though.
  11. The AER stuff is actually pretty heavy! I already have incredible sound with a super midget for gigs where I can drive to them. The trick for me is finding something easy to pitch with just about giggable that weighs in at 7kg or under. (It's not easy going through rush hour tube stations with a double bass and an amp.) I think the GR bass AT 110 might deliver pretty well on these parameters!
  12. Thanks Itu, I have tried the cab with a few amps some of which have an EQ bypass mode and FX send and return and I'd say the cab is in this case the thing that is obviously coloured. (That was the aim of the designers of this cab to sound retro and warm) It does sound great for electric bass but not great for pitching with my upright. I have personally found the cabs I've tried a much much bigger component to colour than the class D heads I've tried. I thought that was due to speaker driver choice mostly but I'm getting the feeling from this post its a lot to do with the design of the cabinet.
  13. Will let you know have you tried upright with GR stuff by any chance?
  14. I think I maybe suffering from a cocktail of too much internet and being not as funny as I think I am so apologies for that I will keep you posted on my featherweight quest anyways. I've emailed bass direct and they are getting on a price now!
  15. Thanks I'm actually going back and forth with this guy right now! I'm west Sussex for my sins!
  16. The GR BASS AT 110 is 5kg 42 to 18khz with a tweeter and 10" and from what i understand a more transparent sound. (Was curious if a speaker swap might be a cheap alternative but looks like it's a no go.) Please help yourself to this link https://www.grbass.com/cabinet-carbon-fiber/at-110/
  17. Thanks for the advice. Will see how much the GR AT 110 retails at (which is no bigger and 2kg lighter with the tweeter) and maybe sell the BF one10. A speaker swap as you say may be a bad idea.
  18. Thanks will ping Bass direct a message for a price to see what these cabs work out at in the UK.
  19. Thanks but too heavy I already have a super midget at that weight
  20. This I found yesterday. I think its 699 euros if you are in europe. This would be perfect. I might have the money for this in future. If I could get hold of the 10" speaker from this I'm sure it would be less coloured than the BF.
  21. Thanks I have considered this if you have any links to anything not bigger or heavier than the BF one10 feel free to share them.
  22. Thanks I have looked at that. Not interested in anything bigger and heavier than the one10 as I have the super midget already.
  23. Thanks for the advice, Thats heavier than what Im looking for though for this purpose. (I have a super midget already but I need a lighter rig for some jobs)
  24. Hi guys, I was hoping someone might know loads about speakers. I'm looking for the most uncoloured full range 10" 200/300w speaker that you know about. Doesn't have to be posh if it meets the criteria! I have a barefaced one10 which although is very impressive I'm tempted to change the speaker to something more transparent (for upright bass.) I'd also like to end up without the cab getting heavier if thats possible!
