What's with all this 'you lot'? ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US.
It's a divide in bass-ic knowledge (ok that's a lot less funny that i could've been)
Apparently the Boss CS-3 with Monte Allum's mod applied is actually pretty stellar. There's a UK contact on this page if you'd need someone to do it for you.
Has anyone ever tried to mod. a pedal? And if so is it easy, as in really easy, cause i haven't used a souldering iron for...about 4 years.
Just bought one of these £55 BIN on the bay.....I hope you are right. It's coming from Liverpool - I do hope it gets here before next Wednesday!!
I was thinking of buying the very same pedal. Oh well, i'll hunt down another one.

some of it did look a bit steep to me but if they all go under a quick message to the guy might make him drop the prices a bit for an 'off-ebay' sale

Well after my baptism of fire with fx pedals i have realised that getting a compression pedal could make it easier for me when recording stuff, both acoustic and electric bass cause the levels jump about all over the place. As you lot will've been messing with compression and tried and tested pedals i was wondering if you could suggest a cheap/affordable pedal. Lets say i have a budget of...50 quid for a 1st or 2nd hand pedal. I have a Behringer Limiter, which works fine (bought from one of you lot) but it's not quite what i'm looking for. I just want a better quality pedal, and one with as little background noise as possible (which i've heard is a downfall with compression) Quite a lot of demands for 50 quid but if you lot could make some suggestions it'd be great. I've looked (online) as stuff like the CS-3 and Ashdown Dual Compression but apparently they both suffest from excess background noise. Thanks.
I have one of those too. tho this is more like a noise gate that doesn,t actually remove noise, it simply is like a volume control that has a threshold level that you adjust so that when you are not playing the volume turns down so giving the illusion that your signal is quiet. I use one of these on the output of my big muff pedal so the that the damn thing appears a little less noisy when the muff signal loop is in, as all my pedals are on loops with true bypass when not in use, but still use the palmer at end before the amp as the boss pedal will not remove any signal noise while you are playing like the palmer does.
so the Boss pedal reduces noise whilst not playing? I haven't read the pedal spec. on the Boss website but can it be used to reduce noise output from pedals yet still allow through the bass signal? If that makes sense. Thanks.

Thanks, that's exactly the stuff i was looking for. I've worked out what pedals making most of the noise (the Zoom...) and i dont use it all as a permanent set up so i can easily swop things around but if i can find a cheap and easy solution then i could be swayed into buying something. Thanks again.

I've just set up my pedals, which in a matter of months now includes 5 whole pedals, well one's a piece of crap. Free, 70s B-line sci-fi movie prop, crap though. Tis still much appreciated. But i have now got a lot of background noise, a kinda hissing...but not hissing... Quite simply the kinda noise you get when lots of pedals all lead into an amp n it just kinda hums away at you. Anyone know if there's a pedal out there that can cut this noise, cause i dont want it there when i'm not using fx, if they're all plugged in and beign using it aint too much of a problem but when i play without them on it's annoying. I know there's a kinda pedal out there which can cut noise...ithink anyway. So yeah anyone, if this makes sense please help. they're plugged in... Zoom BFX-708 --> Digitech Flanger --> Guyatone EQ --> Boss RC-20XL (when it arrives) --> Behringer limiter powered by a soundlab powerbank psu. Any help? Thanks. Enjoy

ash_sak replied to katri's topic in Effects For Sale
I have for sale a Catlinbread Ottava Magus i got it only this week and I have been offered a bass so im selling off the stuff i dont use to pay for it, its a really nice octave up effect and as all Catalinbread pedals it is amazingly well made. there is a tiny chip on the bottom corner but that was there when i got it on monday. Pics close up of the chip: I payed $100 + shipping and i would like something in the same region back so £75 shipped to your door also I have a Power Bank PSU for sale 5 way power supply 450mA max so it will easily handle 5 Boss pedals or 5 handmade pedals. i have used this for years but now i have more than 5 pedals on my board i have to let it go, its a little beat up but it still works fine 5 2.1mm cables included (only 4 in the pic) £15 to your door any offers considered PM me if interested Dan
i'll take the power pack -
i just realised<Br>is it possible to stick a daisy chain lead onto a boss adapter?<BR><BR>would that work for powering lots of pedals (to be exact 3, Guyatone EQ, Digitech X-series Flanger, Boss RC-20XL)<BR><BR>(i just saw someone said they powered loads of pedals from just 2 adapters so...)
Absolutely none that I've experienced - "Creates no noise or mains hum" Best value for money effects daisy chain adapter IMO.
Thanks, sounds good to me. And it's cheaper than buying 4 psu units.

That's what I use anyway, and it works so I guess it's good.
Thanks. Does it produce any excess hum or anything? I imagine you would've said if it did but i just thought i'd ask

I'm looking for a multi-pedal power supply, either in the form of a butterfly chain or a power unit with seperate outputs. Any ideas on ones you lot would rate as websites, as you know, all tell me they're the best. I saw this... http://www.diago.co.uk/pedal-power/pedal-power/ and it looks very fancy plus other reviews say it's damn good so have any of you lot tried one out? Thanks.

I just bought a Guyatone pedal. Very nice, well packaged. Postage took a few days due to not being able to access a post office but nowadays that's no suprise. Thanks, Ashok.

Quick and cheap postage. Bought a book of scales and shall trust him with future transactions. (also if you forget to pay him he politely reminds you, no unnecessary swearing or anything) Thanks.
