  5. If having expenses covered and actually making a profit counts, I've probably only done that about 3 times! That doesn't take account of time spent practicing, or strings, or other gear of course!

  7. Ferry across the Mersey - Gerry and his Pacemaker
  8. One Nation Under a Groove -Funkadelic

  10. Back in the late 80s we started off playing the Kings Head in Fulham. The deal there was we had to get 15 people in after which we'd get 1/3 of the door take... If we didn't get that many we'd have to cover PA costs of £25. Luckily we managed it every time we played there, sometimes only just! But that was the only place we played that had that sort of deal. Later, we played all the Mean Fiddler venues and the Rock Garden quite a few times and never had to pay, though we didn't make much...
  11. We have music at work from a large (1600+) playlist I've put together on Spotify. It plays through an early 90s Sansui amp I got off ebay for £20 and a pair of JBL control 1 speakers. The sound is excellent, it goes far louder than we need and it's been going for 12.5 years at 8 hours a day, 362 days per year without missing a beat. The JBLs are still made and Richer Sounds are doing 'em for £79...
  12. Rose Garden Funeral of Sores - Bauhaus
  13. While on the subject of musical ageism and being right up to date, here's some indie from when it was called new wave, about 45 years ago!

  15. Quando Quando Quando - Pat Boone
  16. People Are Strange - Shockabilly

  21. I done one too three! Not sure what it's got to do with the pic, but this is what came out! Bass is my Sandberg Basic. Guitars, by Strat. Various keys from Iris instruments and Funky Clav. Drums played using Ableton on board samples. Vox sample found on Loopmasters. Lots of Raum, ObjeqDelay and Dubstation 2, with neutron 3 instruments comp and eq presets, plus mastering using Ozone 9 at -16LUFS...
  22. My old mate Trev... We used to play in a band together back in the mid 90s called Elephant - remember supporting Glen Matlock at The Cricketers, Kennington. Also remember a 4 hour gallery opening we did as a duo - lots of strange improv noodling to go with the strange noodley art! https://disassembler1.bandcamp.com/album/what-is
  23. Dreamscape - Jamaaladeen Tacuma
  24. Shoot The Pump - J Walter Negro & the Loose Jointz
