Having seen Stanley play it on a number of occasions, and having needs that are funky, 2 is "We Supply".

It's a 3* classic E1 5b called Aviation... And my songs are rarely anything to do with the picture! I look at it, then record the 1st bass line that comes to mind. Usually it's only one take of everything, which I do as an excuse not to have coherent structure or anywhere near perfect playing 😁 -

That's cos I'm not a conformist... 😁 However, from what I understand the "proper" pic is taken from the cliff in my pic. And the cliff is the best thing in the area, bar the "Hound of the Basket Meals" food van in the car park! -
Not sure if you could say Kraftwerk are over-rated; after all they're responsible (directly and indirectly) for a number of musical genres - not something you can say about many individual bands! And they could have churned out tons of Kraftwerk-by-numbers songs but I think I respect them more for not doing that! And live (if you can say that!) they're about the best band I ever saw... Still, each to their own! Still, if it's going to be a list of bands you don't like - possibly just because you don't like 'em or possibly because everybody goes on about them to such an extent that you're sick of them - I'd say over-rated: Beatles. Fleetwood Mac. 😁 And to continue the list with bands you do like, but they haven't managed world domination - Under-rated: Monochrome Set Stump - though I can understand their lack of mass appeal!

9 entries and only 11 members voted! Maybe everybody's busy preparing themselves to enter next month's compo compo? 😆 -

RIP Hamilton! -
I'm more tempted to get EZDancer, then I can just sit there with my pint criticising the band! 😁
-
Or you could input your average bass player's take into the "convert bass to midi" function, then fix all the timing errors by quantising, quantise your original bass player's take and mix the 2 with EZBass covering weird glitches caused by quantising analogue! I'm kind of tempted, as I have EZ Drummer and EZ Keys already... Just need EZ guitar, then I can be a dancer! 😎

Rockin' pose! 😎😆 -
I saw this a few weeks ago... Enjoyable enough and all very nice and nostalgic, but there was nothing that hadn't been shown in plenty of BBC4 music docs - it's all well-known history of all the mainstream British pub rock bands. It would be nice if they explored some more recent music, or more obscure music, or some jazz! Frinstance, I've never seen any docs on the Liverpool scene from 1977 on. Or the goth scene, or UK jazz funk... There's been nowt (that I've seen, at least!) on any sort of improvised jazz, or Industrial, or even on the dance scene in the late 80s on. So rather than yet another documentary on the Stones, Faces etc let's see something on Throbbing Gristle, Mutoid Waste Company and the Ozrics! Or even what The Kids are doing nowadays - or perhaps BBC4 think they're all hunched over their phones sexting each other?

Here's one - this inspired by the classic climb Aviation at Hay Tor Lowman... Tried out some new production techniques and synths as well.

It's entirely subjective, there's lots of FX (I like FX!), but:

Any of Bootsy's bass tones... But was always amazed at the noise Steve Jameson (died last year I recently discovered - shame!) from World Domination Enterprises could produce:

He played guitar on the first album, and on the 1st single - all of which were very guitar based... I even bought That's Too Bad/Oh Didn't I Say for the riffage!
