The Vari Mid Preamp in my SR800 is broken and I got around 150 to get the thing playing again. I can either find a replacement preamp that fits the back body cavity, or completely gut the thing and put in a set if passive pickups. I did a bit of research, and I'm pretty sure the Fender '62 Precision Staggered Pickup set will fit perfectly...I'd just have to install 'em in reverse. The route on the Ibanez is also in the middle instead of the bridge. That's as far as I've gone so far. I don't know much about bass parts, I'm more of a guitar guy... anyone got a suggestion on what I can do to get the best sound? I'm gonna be recording with it. Thanks.
