Went Preston to Brighton (gb hq) just the other week.there and back in the day.taking the bass there yourself is almost as cheap as a courier . Nice new spitfire ordered for me !
I went Manchester to just north of London last week and with a bit of running around, put £100 of fuel in my car! Courier is cheaper I think, you must be doing 70 miles / gallon lol! I would like to get down, make a weekend of it, but just cant do it now! The bass has settled down nicely now, would like to get the action down a touch, but I'll leave that to Bernie. There was absolutley no relief in the neck, it was almost going back the wrong way! I'm stuck with no blend pot until the bass goes to Bernie, but enjoying playing it this week, which is why it hasn't been sent yet! Tony

Just going through some old vid's on you tube, found this one! dodgey filming, but what a good night! Not much bass content, was playing a Jap' P bass detuned to D, but what a great gig!

Had a good chat with Bernie, very helpful as usual, he knows what needs to be done, bass will be going to him at some point this week Anyone going Manchester to Brighton lol Tony

Yeah, I know it's gonna be right, as you rightly pointed out, I have had one before, so I know how good they are! Just could have done without all the messing about right now (but that's another story!) I've not heard from the seller, he was going to ring Bernie!, Going to try catch up with him today and then call Bernie myself Tony

Not feeling it with the Rumour right now! Blend pot damaged in transit, seller was going to speak to BG about getting it repaired, but not heard anything, need to follow this up today Also, set up was awful, very low buzzy action, no relief in the neck at all, been tweeking truss rod and doing what I would call a regualr set up, not there yet. More relief in the neck, but very buzzy arounf frets 1/2/3, need to check tonight after neck has settled. If it goes back to Bernie I will get him to set it up as it is not very playable right now. Was expecting a low action, I know bernies basses are capable of this and the MK slap type fraternity, do like set ups that are low and a bit rattly! Just a bit dissapointed with the money I have spent, would have been nice to be able to play "out of the box" Tony

Got a new PT jnr yesterday, fitted my voodoo labs PSU, then out with the velcro, not a chance, would not stick! Anyone else seen this? Tony

Went to see David Mcalmont last night at the Lowry in Salford Not my usual type of gig, but as it's my bruothers tour (I think he is managing Mr Mcalmont as well?) I took advantage of that and took my girlfriend for a night of laid back music! First up, great performance by David Mcalmont, didn't know what to expect, but he has an amzing voice, huge range! On bass was Neville Marshall, he played a mix of upright and Fender (I think) Jazz. Great upright sound, the highlight was a song, the name of which I forget (possibly A nNght Of Sweetness?), which was just upright and vocals, credit to both for making it sound so cool This photo ain't from last night, but it is the song I mentioned above Tony

Somehow, the p/up pan pot has sheared off! The bass was very well packed, not sure how it's happened! Looks like the bass will go back to bernie as the pot is hardwired to the board. Really good communication with the seller, the guy has been really helpful! Tony

Nice, slick neck, slightly bigger than what I'm used to, but soon adjusted! Action was way to low for me, was like butter but way too buzzy! There is a problem with the bass as a result of shipping, but I haven't contacted the seller yet, so will update on this later. Very pleased overall, owned a Rumour before so kind of new what to expect. My valve rig probably ain't the best set up to do this bass justice, but I have been considering a small combo for practice in my flat! Tony

Yeah, I'll see how I get on for time with the pics. Got plenty of playing time tonight though! Tony
I realised earlier today that I didn't to give you the power cable. I wasn't deliberately being a cheapskate, I just forgot. I hope you have some spare ones. Steve
No worries mate, got plenty of those, thanks for meeting up with this, all in good order! Tony

Had some fun today! picked up Roland V-bass yesterday, the earlier floor mounted unit, with a GK3-B p/up The pick up got stuck onto my jap P bass, with the small controller secured onto the front of the bass with a screw into one of the pick gaurd screw holes!. All nice n neat, a short patch lead runs from the bass into the controller and the GK lead is secured to the patch lead around the back of the bass and into the controller Just been going thru the patches today, need to download the manual and give this unit a good looking at! I know they've been around for a while, but realy good fun and they are cheep now (even saw one shop with the new unit at £545 a few weeks back!) Gonna hook it into my pro tools desk and see what it sounds like recorded! Tony

I used to use my fretless jazz, but got me fretless Lakland hollowbody now, also a mark bass superbooster pedal as I like the filters on fretless
