Thanks for the advice, yes it was on! I'm very familiar with midi, not used it for a while but have been using it since sometime back in the early 90's and it makes perfect sense the way the in / out thing works. May have another bash this evening! T

I checked the midi drivers, all up to date I skipped the registration process and still get the same message M9 update failed (code 800000A) An undefined error occured: Try the update again, making sure midi cables are still connected Fed up of trying this! Tony

After a fairly hectic schedule over the last few weeks, this weekend saw a chnace to have a good look at the M9, first thing to do was update the firmware! COMPUTER SAYS NO! What a nightmare!!! spoke to Tayste, his went ahead no problem, but I have a very different story Installed Monkey (latest version, 1.31) on laptop, asked me to regsister product, which I did. Tried again, still asked me to register product, got directed to product registration page where I could see my M9 already registered! Got stuck here, can't past this! Installed Monkey on G5, still same problem, midi interface working, but monkey not seeing M9 Went to guitarists house last night, his PC is being used with several line 6 products including M13 and X3 over midi Still got the same problem, cant get past registration even though it is registered Played with a Line 6 supported artist last night, he was also pissed off with updating his M9, but he got it to work, he suggested calling Line 6 direct, will see how I get on with this today cos right now, I cant see a way forward Tony
4. I have a Belkin monitor selector switch, also does mouse and keyboard Allows two computers to use the same monitor mouse and keyboard, I used it when I was running two pc's, one for everyday rubbish and another as a DAW. Round push button switches between PC's There are a few versions of this, this one is for USB I used it to switch between a mac and PC! £20 posted
5. This was sold pending, but it has been like that since October 13th!!!!!!!! I'm getting a bit pissed off now, the guy keeps cancelling collection, offered to pay for the cab for me to hold it, but that didn't happen, supposed to be collecting tomorrow, but I ain't holding my breath If he comes to get it then fair enough, but he ain't replied to my messages, so it is now back up for sale, if someone wants it and it's still here, then it's yours Tony

8. Hi No photo's yet, but the last part of my EBS rig build arrived yesterday and will be giged on Friday night, during which time I will get some photo's I have my old faithul TD650 and had a desire to run an 8x10 rig. I initially had two 410 proline cabs, a few weeks back I found a used 4x10 neoline at bass direct so decided to take the plunge. Played a gig last week with one neo cab and a proline. After the sale of my last remaining proline I ordered a second neoline cab which arrived yesterday, the cab got tested at rehersal last night ready for a big gig we got on friday I know it's gonna sound HUGE as I've done many gigs with the 2 prolines! I was lucky to pick up a proline with a full flightcase, I've kept this, I'm not using the full case, just the wheeled based, it's agreat help for moving gear around Thanks to Bass direct and EBS UK for taking money off me and making this happen, great service and quick delivery from both Tony
9. My Sei and Pedulla are doing the job for me right now, could squeeze another 5 string Jazz in there though, maybe sea foam green or Sonic blue, Nordy fat stacks, maybe an audere pre. From the likes of shuker or sei! T

12. My sei was out of action last week, did a rehersal with just fretless, went fine, had a fretted P-bass for a few tracks we are doing thoug, just in case. Didn't need it, suprising how quick you get it naoled with stuff you know well, I often play along to our demos on fretless. ...and it is a lush pedulla T

Been a bit busy of late, life is very hectic, so still not had chance to have a good play with this Still not updated the firmware, so not got stuff like the octaver yet I did take it to rehersal last night, hit one of the tube overdrive models, sounded fine, worked very well, had to adjust the level and drive, but worked fine on bass Got a bit of time before next gig on sunday so will try and get some more time on it, but having a noodle at home is fine, getting out with a screaming guitarist and a hard hitting drummer is the only well to tell if it really is what I'm hoping it is! T
14. We're playing RB's Tony
15. I use one at home, seems OK, but it ain'y getting the same treatment it would if I took it out on gigs For gigs Iuse a fold up flat double (x2, not upright) bass stand, no fancy grabby stuff, just stick em in and leave it, not as small as a Herc' though! Tony
16. Not sure what extent Oxjam gigs are happening round the UK this weekend, but I doknow there's one in manchester and another in Chester We're head lining at one of the Chester venues on Sunday, just before a GLC DJ set, anyone else doing any of these? Tony
17. His melodic playing is nice, he deffo has his own style and the melodic basslines on the first few albums always had a certain feel to them, a side often overlooked as poeple wade into his slap style. I grew up listening to Level 42, it was so accessible, on the radio, TOTP's the tube etc and it opened the doors to a whole world of other players I din't know existed when I was a young bass cadet, I suddenly became aware of the likes of SC, MM and a whole load of other players! my playing today doesn't reflect his influence as i have lsitened to amny players over the last 30 years, but I do like to wiggle me thumb every now and then and do some wicky wacky triplet lines, there is still something very satisfying about it. T
18. exact same reply as shockwave!

21. Not so much a dislike for the sound of the Bart' pre, the top end sometimes seemed all or nothing though! The layout was difficult, 4 pots and 2 switches squeezed onto the plate was difficult at times, I was knocking th coil selector switches when moving pots. I could have just took them out and fitted a new plate, but felt like trying something different, and being familiar with the East, I went that route! This is now fitted and working, had to cut the jack plug off the east and thread the wires through to the existing jack, was very difficult, had to open up the very tight channel in order to do it. Also had a problem with the passive tone pot connections touching a painted earthing point at one end of the cavity. I dropped a strip of tape over it and it worked fine. Sound is nice, a little compressed compared to the Bart pre, not as open, if that makes sense? Nice to have the overall tone control just to roll off or add top end I got a reherasal and gig tomorrow night so should have a better opinion then, but for now, it seems to suit what I'm doing right now. I have an additional switch on this, opposite the active passive switch, this is for side of neck LED's. This makes 3 switches on the plate, but the switches John uses are tiny compared to the switches you need for coil selection, so even though I've gone from two to three, the size and layout makes the switches less obtrusive. I've got no pickgaurd on the bass right now as I need to sand it down in the cut out where the plate fits, as its a very tight fit! I have photo's, will post them when I get chance Would like to try and audere at some point though, would be an intresting comparison Tony
22.
Is there room for a battery in there as well?thanks.
This came out of a bass with a seperate battery box, I doubt there would be room inside a standard sized cavity T
