1. Hit me with a sensible offer for this quality cab!

It was that price for a few hours, then went back to £329? I didn't have my wallet on me when I saw it, got home, bought one, then shortly after it was normal price!! Tony

It looks like they did hold the price, I need to check the invoice when it arrives though. My account on Dolphin still shows the same price though, so without contcating me, they cannot charge any more to my card! Could be the best £215 I've spent for a while! I got to go away for a few days tonight though, so probably only gonna get a few minutes to have a play, will have to wait until sunday for a good work out with it Tony
4. Bump on a cheap, quality cab Travelling from Manchester to Redcar tonight, back again on Sunday, so can deliver "en route" Tony

I just got an email from Dolphin Music telling me mine has been shipped, should arrive tomorrow! Tony
6. Yes, it ain't that simple! By simple, I meant, I want to go down the regular bass, mid, treble route and avoid having too many switches, so using push/pull pots where possible I think I am going to stay with the p/ups in series (simple job to change later) and get john to squeeze in a small switch for the LED's, or go the route you went with the push/pull pot on the passive tone. Cheers Tony
7. Thanks for the input guys, it's all sinking in! I will be sticking with a regular pre as opposed to a filter based pre at this time, just trying to work out the best way to squeeze everything in!! Tony
8. I also considered this a while back. Rob Green at Status makes a standard stingray neck that has a flatter profile on the back, therefore giving the impression of a slimmer neck. He will also do a stingray neck with the same nut width as a Jazz (similar to a sterling) but he will add extra to the cost, £50 I think it was You could always get a Sterling Tony
9. I'm after a new pre for my sei, currently running Bartolini P5's and a Bart' 3 band pre Decided on a total refit a while back, was after a pair of Nordstrand dual coils, which I now have, thanks to "Nice Guy Homer" Now the pre amp choice is proving difficult as I try to accomodate several of my requirements on a standard jazz style plate, with 4 pots and a body jack socket I need some way of switching side, neck LED's on, these are now on the volume pot, which is push/pull I will probably run the pick ups in series, but it would be nice to have the option of using one switch to switch both p/ups into series or parallel. The options I have, are as follows J-retro deluxe - I've spoke to John about this already, he did a mod to one for Largo off this forum, that gives the facility to switch LED's. But as much as I love these pre's, having a mid frequency select pot as well as mid cut/boost, is more than I need, but nice to have. I like things very simple, 3 band eq, volume and blend. Plus there is no room to add any series/parallel switching Audere - I emailed audere, their pre's are not able to be customised, so whilst the addition of any LED switch would be easy, thats about it Aguilar - the model I looked at was the BP-3SK/PP: (Includes stacked Treble/Bass pot and separate Mid pot. Mid pot is push/pull for Midrange frequency selection) Not sure if this will fit in my cavity though (ooooh err missus!) would probably get the guys at the gallery to sort this for me, maybe the series parallel switching can be squeezed in there Nordstrand - same situation as the aguilar pre, but a load of additional info on the website about changing the mid frequency with capacitors! Would run this as it came, my amp is capable of any additional mid' requirements I have Probably worth mentioning that I have a seperate batery compartment in the bass Any additional advice, comments would be appreciated Cheers Tony
10. Welcome to the city, I'm sure you'll have plenty of fun, plenty of live music about There are a few of us on here from Manc', no doubt they will be along shortly! Tony
11. Saw SA back in '96 with the Sex Pistols in Finsbury park, great band and a great day! She did an insane dive into the crowd (not Boy hits car style, but still cool as ....) Also saw him when he was with TTD a long time ago, they were supporting Bowie on the glass spider tour, TTD were a bit sh*t to be honest, Alison Moyet played the same day, awesome voice, Bowie was on form, I remember Peter Frampton was on 6 string duty at that time Tour dates for SA are out, sometime in November me thinks, I will go see, great band!
12. I had a CS Jazz a few years back, it was a team built bass, very nice neck, probably one of the best 4 string necks I've wrapped my hands around. Very well built, but given the custom options from just UK luthiers, I wouldn't go that route again (I am a sei bass owner) It's a well built stock jazz at the end of the day, you'll find a US deluxe that sounds and feels as good if you shop around Tony
i was only really messing around since that rocktron costs about 700 quid. i will no doubt get the m9. i think it would be cool if they did an M9B
I get the impression they are listening to bassists a lot now, judging by the responce of the guy on TB, he isd around on a lot of other forums as well, mostly 6 string stuff On TB someone asked if it would be possible to buy additional effects, that would be cool! Get a stock M9( (or M13) and have the room to add a few choice effects, maybe bass specific. I think there is an octaver in there aimed at bass, but from what Tayste has said, most work well with bass anyway Tony

I'm waiting for the M9 to downsize my rig! Adding a controller to a rack mounted M13 would defeat the object for me, plus I'd never ever need that many switching options for that many scenes in either the regular set my band playes or the covers set we occasionally do From what I've seen of the M13 (guitarist in my band uses one) as it is, it works fine! M13's are now down around £315, maybe less if you shop around, but I have seen one listing for the M9 at £379, all seems a bit odd price wise! T

My worry on this is UK prices, you may have read my comment on talk Bass regarding the shop the Line 6 rep' recommended, but they are still charging £399 for an M13 if you buy online, maybe it's cheaper in the shop, but it's still close on £100 more than you can get an M13 for if you shop around!!! 21. RHT has got to be in the running for this as well I reckon! There are many bass lines off of the first two albums that will bring a smile to anyones face when you get them nailed, another fave of mine is "If I like it, I do it" I have two live recordings of Paul Turner playing with the band, his playing is incredible, Zender gets the credit he deserves for creating a lot of these lines, but PT nails them all and makes them even better with his own style. One of the recordings I have has a great bass sound and it's really up in the mix! T
22. You are indeed right, I remember reading that a while back, so who is the mysterious Mr X, Andrew Levy maybe? Whoever it is needs a serious pat on the back for some smooth and creative 5 string bass work, funky as 10 funky things in a place called "funky" T
23. Hey Manc's, Thursday night is Thirsty Scholar night for us Logicals! Tony
