fender custom shop closet clssic 64 jazz Def Sold
sshorepunk replied to richardd's topic in Basses For Sale
Looks like and WOTT set about the same images search at the same time Out of interest, I once owned a Custom shop Jazz, the classic model with block inlays and active circuit, more like a '75 but with a modern twist, how does the neck profile on this bass compare to that? The one I had, probaby had the best neck I've ever played on a Fender! Tony -
The Mutron isn't noisy in the slightest! I've currently got two, and neither of them have any bad noise problems.
Now that is just greedy I've had a few Mutrons, had a real good one which I regret selling sooooo much, then had a crap one which I got from the US, it had to go back. Had a newer Mutron, whilst it ain't as good as the real thing, they are far better than a lot of other filters out there. EBS Bass IQ is great, one of the best £100 (ish)options out there Here good things about the Maxon, but never played one Mooger Fooger LP is nice, stick an exp' pedal in for more versatility and some serious sub bass rumbles. Needs to be in a loop cos this things sucks tone like ten tone sucking things on a tone sucking day out Q-tron - first filter I had, thought it was great until I tried a few others. Dod FX 25 is nice for chucking in a quick squelchy kinda burst, not for prolonged use due to lack of bottom end Would have a Bass IQ, Moogger Fooger LP in a loooooper or an origanil Mutron if I had some spaer $$, would also like to give a MeatBall a squeeze, but the abundance of controls is off putting One thing to remember about EF's, it ain't a simple as twiddling the knobs to make it work, you gotta play the pedal!! Doug knows how! Tony

MEC Gold active pick ups
sshorepunk replied to sshorepunk's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
Off the top of my head, these are 95mm wide, they came out of a 5 string dolphin which has narrower spacing than a 5 string stage 1 (for example) they are the same width as the J pick up in a 4 string stage 1. 4th pick up down on this page..... http://shop.warwick.de/index.php/cat/c89_Pickups.html/page/2 Hope that helps, can't give anymoreinfo until I get home tonight -

Ain't none of them the best, they are all different hence the use of the word "custom". If they all made an identical product then we could debate "best" I've owned a few basses made by UK builders, Sei, Status, GB, Overwater, all were excellent instruments, they all felt different to play and they all sounded different. Really is down to what you to hear and what you want it to play like Tony

New thread for this once since I sold my Streamer 1999 Warwick Dolphin 5 string The bass is in good condition, it has some very minor marks in the wood as would be expected from a bass that is 9 years old. There is no buckle rash on the rear or significant indentations in the wood, there is a slight ridge on the rear of the bass between the body and neck section that passes through the centre of the body The hardware is brass with some very slight fading, but this is hardly noticeable, there is some slight wear on the pick up covers, the MEC logo has worn on the rear pick up The electronics are MEC 2 band, with MEC gold, active p/ups The bass comes in a mint Warwick square case, not the full flightcase, but a good solid case as can be seen in the pictures below Here's what the warwick website says......... The Dolphin's innovative body design, based on a rhombus, is perfectly balanced and gives it the eccentric look to match the demands of eccentric players. An extremely hard Ovangkol wood body, contoured to fit the player, hides the Ovangkol neck-through design. The tuners, the Just-a-nut, pickups, bridge and saddle, are all mounted to the same piece of wood producing limitless unrivaled tones. The vast tone flexibility, provided by the unique jazz/twin jazz pickups, opens up a new dimension - full and round across the entire sound spectrum. For everything from percussive playing to fingerstyle, the Dolphin's sound still loses nothing in fullness and warmth. Neck-through-design Available as 4- or 5-string Left-handed and fretless version available* Ovangkol body Ovangkol neck Wenge fingerboard Dolphin inlays Scale length: 34" (long scale) 26 frets Active MEC J/TJ pickups MEC 2-way electronics Natural Oil Finish Warwick tuners 2-piece Warwick bridge Warwick security locks Gold hardware Just-A-Nut III I've tried to be as honest as possible with the description of the bass, but if you require any more info, please contact me Not something you see offered for sale too often £1050 ono Would consider a trade on this, 4 string only with cash my way
