Rather a strong statement that, accusing someone of blatant thievery and not very helpful.

Still ,were all entitled to an opinion I suppose.

Mistakes may have been made that we can all learn from.

Maybe the accusations and counter accusations should be left out leave it now to the involved parties to sort things out.

I think if I was buying said bass and it turned up like that I'd be a tad miffed.
The implicationn in the ad was that the bass was part of the deal.
If the purpose of the case was just for shipping it should have been made clear in the ad.
Sorry if i what I'm saying may not be what you want to hear but you did ask for opinions and thats mine.
In my opinion thats a pretty irresponsible bit of packing.
Live and learn as they say, you'll know better next time.
I'd pay up and grin and bear it.

3.
The one in the pic is the one it was shipped in.
If thats the case then you really shouldn't have any problems.
Item supplied exactly as described and at a good price too.
If I was the buyer I would be more than happy.
Shame about the hassle.
Hope it gets resolved without tears.
Does seem as though he's trying it on.

4.
The listing said that "the bass will be shipped in a hard case."

That is the only mention of the case in the listing.
You said in your listing the bass comes in ITS case which will be included.
Your photo shows a really nice case which implies that is the case it s coming in.
If however you shipped it out in an adequate but dog of a case then I would side with the buyer and its understandable that he's a tad miffed and expecting some financial recompense or the case it was implied the bass would be shipped in.

5.
I went in there today to buy that one... You got there first

ended up with the gold les paul copy in the window instead :)
I phoned them yesterday morning and apparently they had a white one as well but I got them to stick my name on the blue one and they would have kept it for me till Monday. :)
Still nice guitar and its getting a set of black nylons later this eveningnplus a lowering of the action.
I can only repeat what others have said, well worth the dosh.

As a matter of interest did they comment about the sudden popularity of their guitars?

6. If there was a problem then I could see the sense but there doesn't really seem to be a problem.
I only joined the forum to buy a bass in the for sale section but have ended up making a few friends on here but in the couple of years or so I've been a member my post count is faily low.

7. When you've worked so hard to be that good you can have any expression you like .
The guy swings it on the bone as well as the keys, the whole band are swinging and really enjoying the moment.
Great performance.
Now I must go and practice a little more.

8.
The links will still work... Everyone can link and read.

What has been proposed is that member who I've made less than 50 posts are unable to post a thread in the eBay forum. This is to avoid the larger number of people that join the forum, post a link to thier eBay sale and then vanish never to be seen again - or at least until they have something else to sell.

50 posts on Basschat is easily achieved and even the casual basschatter will have that many post after browsing the forum for a while... But it's enough that people visiting purely to advertise thier wares will be unable to do so.

Shep

Ps. BurritoBass - you have posted 3,128 times so no worries about being under the 50 post requirement :)
Yes we understand that but some people are just happy to browse without feeling the need throw their tuppence worth in.
What is wrong with having a set time that you have to be a member for, before you get to use the ebay facilitie.
Or for that matter say fifty posts or 3months membership, whichever occurs the soonest.
Just a thought.

As a ps is this a big problem?
What sort of a percentage of people are doing this?

9. So if you join the forum but don't post but just read, then decide to use the ebay links the computers going to say "No".
Doesn't seem right to me.
There are people I'm sure that just aren't "Chatty Man".
Still your forum your rules.

10. I look at the cost of lessons as just being a part of the expense of wanting to be a bit of a decent player at some point.
Buying a nice bass and amp was just the beginning as far as I was concerned.
Also if you spend hundreds on bass eequipment why not spend a bit more on some decent tuition, whats the point of having decent equipment and not be able to use it to your full potential.
Its all about challenging myself and enjoyment and the joy of having a good teacher to guide me.
We both get a buzz out of every improvement I make.
Hope this may make some sense.
By the way I don't do alchohol, drugs or smoke.

11. I have a Korg electronic jobby but there's loads of free apps out for the iPhone/pod if you have one.
Theres something very satisfying about a mechanical tic tock but with an app you've usually always got it with you.
