Wad, to clarify - the grammar school that our esteemed friend attended did have a single sex counterpart (Camp Hill Girls). I was at the nearby not so posh comp which also is a single sex school.
Well, it was nothing to do with me 😆
By the way, you are probably the first person I have ever met that attended school in south Birmingham and did not refer to Hillcrest as brothel on the hill. Are you sure you went to King Edwards ...?
Unblack metal? That is a new one on me.
Somebody I know was going on about Skillet the other day. Googled it, not really my sound. Turns out they are Christian.
Hello Wad.
I just googled it and it is real. Although I didn't realise that alot of rilly rilly old whitemetal bands from ze 80's are now being classed as punk on the ever reliable Wikipedia (NOT) when previously I myself had just considered them to be metal.
However, all good for the Christian part-time-anarchist yoof. Don't knock it ...
This comment has stayed in my head since I read it earlier. An interesting thing to say. Tell me more. Was it really that different? How?
'83 was just a couple of years shy of my older brother blasting metal vinyl through the wall of his bedroom into mine, and so my fantastic musical taste had not yet been honed ..
P.S. Up the Irons!
I can't tell you what a special place Cardiacs hold for me. Everything of theirs I have heard is just superb. When I was 16, I had Rude Bootleg on original cassette 😮 and the other album I had was On Land and In the Sea.
Sing to God is also awesome.
I think my cool factor peaked in 1989!
I saw it in the supermarket and thought Wow!
It appears to be a 50:50 blend but there was a large residue of oil on the top. Kind of like the two don't have similar compositions to mix properly.
And it just tasted foul 😂
I admit my heart skipped a beat initially. I adore Marmite and I love peanut butter. I thought it was a brilliant idea until I tasted it and then quickly realised it was the worst idea ever! 😂
Marmite doesn't mix with ANYTHING.
