Why don't TE make a mini-type head? Like the Ampeg PF-500, Markbass or Orange TB? I really like TE but since using a PF-500 I don't see the point in buying big heavy 'traditional' style heads. I reckon they've missed a trick there! Truckstop
+1. I'm with you on this. I would be very interested one if it didn't require a forklift!
  3. This was mine for a while, good honest bass, plays brilliantly and sounds absolutely massive! Cheap way to try the Bongo sounds folks.
  4. Awe shucks...i forgot... What's the wait on this?
  5.
I accept cash, cheques, postal orders, and those little black & orange sweeties you used to get in corner shops, you know the ones, they were really hard to unwrap and they dyed your tongue a strange sort of blue-ish colour.
Them orange ones are "Fruit Salads" and the black ones are "Black Jacks". If the MINT means "Mojo" as in the minty little sweets you used to get in corner shops with the aforementioned then i'll take it...... providing it has one more, or less string.. Thanks TK
  6.
I was all like meh but then I saw the word AWSOME so I thought AWESOME. How much awe does it contain please.
......some.....of course

Quite like the sounds on this vid, which surprised me.... Also....Why is in not neck diving either in the vid? Perhaps he was playing in a centrifuge or sumfink....
  9.
I'll definitely be taking that GK if my Trace Elliot AH250SMX GP12 sells quickly
....Hope it sells quickly Bump!
  10. Brilliant review dood, thanks! I can't get over the amount of sheer oomph these basses seem to have considering they are passive. When you had the tone rolled right up it would have buried most active basses i reckon! Good work..
  11. Welcome along Classrock. Nice gear!!

    Hello

  15. Hi from a fellow southerner. Have fun with all your gigs!!
  16. Welcome along Murray, have fun and steer clear of the market place if you are a GAS addict! There is far too much purdy stuff in there!!
  17. No tis your choice anyroad...I just wondered why...open strings seems like a logical argument to me....carry on
  18. <p>
I&amp;amp;#39;ve found a five string to be a bit problematic when working with guitar tunings around C, C# and D standard unless I dedicate the bass to that tuning. For those kind of tunings I generally use my old P bass. I know that with the correct fingering I could play the &amp;amp;#39;correct&amp;amp;#39; notes with a five string, but usually I&amp;amp;#39;ve found that the music I play in these tunings tends to rely on a lot of open notes. Playing on a five string just doesn&amp;amp;#39;t really feel right, or even sound right to my ears. Also sometimes I just like playing a passive Fender without the extra bells and whistles of an active five string. Anything around standard tuning or needing low B or lower tends to be done on the five string, hence the reason I don&amp;amp;#39;t want to permanently have the 5 tuned to C etc.
Why do you need to tune the 5 string to C? Am I being thick or something....+ I assume you mean tuning it up 1/2 a step??
  19.
oh... does that mean you're about to join the "dark side"?
Yep....I am coming on over to join ya....You crazy peeps with yer slanty frets and wonky pickups!!
  20.
In my case 5 strings make my life easier on some songs, and if I was to make a radical exclusion choice between a 5 and a 4 I would go for a 5 but having said that, except for the rare usage of notes beyond the Low E note there are very very few songs that I play on a 5 wich I couldn't play on a 4, mostly reggae tunes.
+1 To this. I have been without a 5 for a couple of months now cos the pickup is being repaired and it's all fine with the 4's getting used to them again has been quite fun actually.... just on the 2 reggae numbers we do something is massively missing....Super, sub, dub... type low end.. Still hopefully the Stingray5 will be fixed soon and then the Dingwall 5 swap can be completed...Yay!
