Unfortunately, I don't have the time or energy to spend 200 bucks on a shipment from the States. Amazon occasionally have sales on DR strings so I snap them up when I can. £25 is the best price I see nowadays.

Squier 40th Anniversary Precision sounds like a no brainer to me. Loving mine - just restrung with DRs and sounds awesome.

I always wear gloves when carefully setting up my DI box and IEMs.

I was after a more neutral preamp with a DI that could do the edge of valve breakup sound. I have been looking at this, the Battalion and the Tonehammer. Have to say, the Laney has impressed me in all the soundclips.

How does this compare with the Tech 21 VT Bass DI? Big fan of Laney. I really liked their RB series amps.

Unfortunately, the only real world solution is constant and continued back strengthening and conditioning exercises at least every other day. Just a few simple moves for a few minutes a day keeps everything in check.

Phat Phuk B is the only other pedal I can think of that has a 'smooth' drive sound.

Have you thought about the TC Spark Booster? No valve but an excellent pedal for warming up your signal with some valvey goodness.

Some on the other hand like sterile has it is more neutral sounding with no coloured, 'signature' sound.
