  1. I can't make the gig but great band.
  2. I have been a big fan of these roundwounds for the last couple of years but they do not get much love on here. If you're after a cheaper alternative to Dunlop Super Brights, this is it. Very, very similar string at a great price. 45-105: https://www.amazon.co.uk/S-I-T-Strings-FN45105-foundations-Medium/dp/B07BZMQKZ8/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?crid=3KD4BXJYPQQMV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.fDv0z1b2iMlDw6_PisXqHvAaBHvpMiV0hiKE2aRfM1tVlWppSW6WyAr87YTf40Nh2udhchlqzyM5Kopm5MTayIRp_FfeuFP98-eSPZe1hl4jhhFQ1oeFCjpHrQXS_lfwPgZGPIqtmwtmpYtEIQ_1-NM4oMLL_gG1KAMZrJRbEP-5lwJQev6SJDdOh5sJiRCSxi5_GlIQsFQ6Zc1NHgIvnA.AR5z8D6XBrS09Z5DEYqqtFvPI7GCZWGUpbT72YqwEp4&dib_tag=se&keywords=sit+bass+strings&qid=1728745922&sprefix=sit+bass+strings%2Caps%2C73&sr=8-7 45-125: https://www.amazon.co.uk/S-I-T-Strings-Bass-Guitar-FN545125L/dp/B07BZYHCL6/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?crid=3KD4BXJYPQQMV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.fDv0z1b2iMlDw6_PisXqHvAaBHvpMiV0hiKE2aRfM1tVlWppSW6WyAr87YTf40Nh2udhchlqzyM5Kopm5MTayIRp_FfeuFP98-eSPZe1hl4jhhFQ1oeFCjpHrQXS_lfwPgZGPIqtmwtmpYtEIQ_1-NM4oMLL_gG1KAMZrJRbEP-5lwJQev6SJDdOh5sJiRCSxi5_GlIQsFQ6Zc1NHgIvnA.AR5z8D6XBrS09Z5DEYqqtFvPI7GCZWGUpbT72YqwEp4&dib_tag=se&keywords=sit+bass+strings&qid=1728745922&sprefix=sit+bass+strings%2Caps%2C73&sr=8-13 30-120: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SIT-Strings-Bass-FN630120L/dp/B07RTCH5ZX/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3KD4BXJYPQQMV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.fDv0z1b2iMlDw6_PisXqHvAaBHvpMiV0hiKE2aRfM1tVlWppSW6WyAr87YTf40Nh2udhchlqzyM5Kopm5MTayIRp_FfeuFP98-eSPZe1hl4jhhFQ1oeFCjpHrQXS_lfwPgZGPIqtmwtmpYtEIQ_1-NM4oMLL_gG1KAMZrJRbEP-5lwJQev6SJDdOh5sJiRCSxi5_GlIQsFQ6Zc1NHgIvnA.AR5z8D6XBrS09Z5DEYqqtFvPI7GCZWGUpbT72YqwEp4&dib_tag=se&keywords=sit+bass+strings&qid=1728745922&sprefix=sit+bass+strings%2Caps%2C73&sr=8-4
  3. Ten months old on my main gigging bass. Change my rounds out at the end of every year. Love the worn in tone.
  4. After much debate, I've decided to go for a set of Lollar P pickups with my usual SIT Foundations. Thank you everyone for the input.
  5. Yes. A distinguished 35 year career if you look at their history.
  6. ...because people on the hooch gave up their musical tastes a LONG time ago.
  7. Do you only have one bass because any tone you need can be dialled in with a preamp?
  8. I have multiple preamp pedals already.
  9. SIT Foundations are my current rounds. Rotos are a no go for me. Rough, inflexible, die quickly.
  10. Yeah... this video helped immensely. Leaning toward the Dimarzio now.
  11. The band is very much amps/cabs on stage so no IEMs. I think it's a great sounding bass but I'm looking for some more mid range punch. It excels at the low end, cut treble, woody sort of sound which is great for blues and funk but it always lacks a little bite IMO.
  12. Tech 21 Bass DI. Unless you're adamant that a valve must be inside the box.
  13. Does anyone have experience with the Seymour Duncan SPB-2?
  14. I have a Squier 40th Anniversary Precision and am planning to swap the pickups out. I have recently joined a new rock band and need a bit more 'umph'. I swapped from flats to rounds but feel something is still lacking. I am after a pickup with a bit more growl and less 'vintage' sounding. Something a little more modern. The shortlist has it stands: Tonerider P EMG Geezer Butler P Dimarzio Model P Fender CS '62 Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance.
  15. Dark stage and you hit a knob by accident - which one did I hit? Not a great design choice for a floor pedal.
  16. I used to have Dunlops installed on everything but moved to rubber washers instead. Just as secure and way easier to install.
  17. I'm waiting until they release a lighter gauge. From reviews, they play similar to a roundwound set in the same gauges.
  18. Don't play venues without a proper stage.
  19. Best bassline of the 80s? Surely this:
  20. Thank you Tim, but you're not on Family Fortunes today.
  21. People are still falling for that? Wow.
