    Doom

Any recommendations on string gauge for drop C / D standard?
  2. Don't use eBay. Simples.
  3. Limp Bizkit, Brokencyde and Baby Metal.
  4. Beats are known to be clever marketing - no better than the £30 bluetooth headphones on Amazon.
  5. D'Addario are already one of the smoothest roundwounds out there so it's either a nickel allergy or you really don't like rounds. DR Hi Beams or Fat Beams are the smoothest steel strings you can buy. GHS Pressurewounds are a good alternative to nickel roundwounds.
  6. Sounds like you need a Stingray.

Starting a Doom band. Usual drop C sort of stuff. Spark Booster, Blower Box, Big Muff. Struggling to think what else I would need except a massive valve amp? Ta.
  8. Yup... not good.
  9. Rechargeables?
  10. I would try light gauge flats. Most tapes require extreme gauges with nut adjustment and for a tension similar to lower gauge rounds.
  11. GHS Pressurewounds sound perfect for you.

    Oh Lordy

Why remove the stock G&L pickup for an inferior aftermarket version?
  13. Why post then?
  14. Refinished by black marker?!
  15. Cut the string before you put a kink in it, i.e. straight. The coils unravel, instant dead string.
  16. I would buy a DR roundcore SS string - Hi Beams or Fat Beams - and cut the string straight. It will be dead immediately. Might be what you're after?
  17. Guitars are lighter than bass. 😆
  18. Ding ding ding!
  19. Not Rotos because they have red silk. Not GHS because they have grey silk. I'm stumped.
  20. Go to a shop and play some. Buy the one you like the most.
  21. Chromes are the brightest flats out there. If you need brighter still, I would say try Pressurewound strings. GHS Pressurewounds and SIT Silencers are good examples.
  22. Lights out GUERRILLA RADIO
  23. Ah, to be fair, that's tilted toward the bridge, not the neck as stated. That's not right.
  24. "Pickups were tilted towards the neck as if the foam underneath hadn’t been placed properly." You do know that's done on purpose, right?
  25. Classic.
