The black label 40-100s are similar tension to XLs. The Super Brights are definitely more flexible/lower tension in the same gauge. If you go for Super Brights, I would go up to 45-105 to get a similar tension.

They're a replacement for the old EXP coated strings. -
The Metal Zone sounds awful in front of an amp. In the effects loop, you can get some decent sounds.

Ever since the pandemic, the bass has took a back seat to much more important things in my life. I'm not quitting but rather taking an extended break. Maybe I don't have the motivation to gig anymore? Maybe other things bring me more happiness? Has anyone else took a break to come back at a later date?
