  1. Judge with your ears and not your eyes.
  2. Cheers guys. I know gig bags/cases are hard to find for short scales. I have a Hiscox hardcase and a TGI Extreme gigbag - I'm guessing neither one would work for SS?
  3. Does anyone gig regularly with a short scale? How does it compare to a 34"?
  4. Quick question - if you sell your bass through BD, do they take 20% off the sale price and you keep the rest?
  5. Anyone order from Reidys recently? Do they get a good rep?
  6. Really enjoyed playing my Sandberg yesterday - never realised how meaty the MM pickup is! Just received an Xotic RC Bass Booster too so even more EQ options on tap.
  7. Just switched to the Xotic RC Bass Booster but am a big fan of the Spark. I ran it on the clean setting with gain at 1-1.30, vol at 10, bass at 1 and treble at noon.
  8. Colts football player?
  9. Why? Doesn't that make silent tuning impossible?
  10. Nobody use a tuner between their bass and amp?
  11. CS pickups not good enough?
  12. If you want Roto steels that last longer and are smoother then DR Lo Rider Steels are the answer.

    Unhappy

I'm not sure if it's all in my head but I'm just unhappy with where my tone is right now. I have two very good basses, a Sandberg TM4 SL and a Bacchus Woodline Craft Jazz, but I can't seem to gel with them. Something keeps telling me that I need a Precision. Every time I pick one up, it's the sound I'm after but I've never found 'the one'. I think subconsciously, I'm trying to make my current two basses sound more P like but that's not what they're built to do. Should I get rid and start afresh? Advice/thoughts welcome.
  14. How has this still not sold?! The build quality is so much better than the US Fenders which are normally double the price. No CNC machines were used to make these basses! I have a Woodline Craft series Jazz and it's one of the best J type basses I've ever played.
  15. Those in originals bands know the pain of turning up to a venue and if the promoter is particularly sh!tty, they will sort the gear arrangement there and then at the soundcheck.
  16. If you do purchase it, I would love a comparison!
  17. Check your gear regularly. I've never broken a string during a gig or had any other calamities whilst playing live. I have had plenty of gigs where the bassist from the other band has turned up with no amp and asked to use my amp... "Alright mate, my amp is broken/I have no amp; can I lend yours for the night?".
  18. They don't change the sound but I find that they hold intonation better.
  19. I liked their first album - probably because it was very Siamese Dream influenced. Haven't heard anything since.
  20. My fave: "I'm leaving to join the circus - so I can work with some professional clowns".
  21. Yes - enjoyed all three singles released so far. Production is just gorgeous.
