They're brighter, hence treblier, so bum notes will stand out more.
Give it time and they will lose a little brightness or just turn down your tone knob slightly.
Too many times have I had a bass player awkwardly shuffle up to me and ask to use my amp just before they go on.
I hand them a DI box and say, "Enjoy!".

I've played a couple of Tribute JB-2s and they are fantastic instruments for the money. A P body with a J neck and two classic sounding J pups. Can't go wrong really.
