  1. Fender 9050s or D'Addario Chromes are always a good starting point. GHS Precision Flats or La Bella DTB for something a little darker.
  2. I would go for the VT. Best of both worlds with the pups and would compliment a TM quite nicely.
  3. G&L JB-2 fits the bill: https://glguitars.com/product/jb-2/ Possibly the Squier Paranormal Jazz bass too? https://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-dept/bass-guitars/jazz-bass/squier-paranormal-jazz-bass-54-white-blonde
  4. Dillinger Escape Plan are clearly the best band from NJ!
  5. Not at all! Bigger gauge strings don't equal bigger tone has lots seem to think.
  6. Which is complete BS. Rotobass are Roto Swing 66 nickels without the silk. Exact same string otherwise.
  7. If restrictions allow and Covid cases continue to fall, I will be cautiously but irreversibly, raising a bass onto my shoulder.
  8. I can't even tell you how many plonkers on Gumtree don't understand 'Cash on collection - pickup only - no shipping'.
  9. They're brighter, hence treblier, so bum notes will stand out more. Give it time and they will lose a little brightness or just turn down your tone knob slightly.
  10. One Hot Minute finally getting the love it deserves!
  11. I've heard of photo filters but seriously ! 😂
  12. Too many times have I had a bass player awkwardly shuffle up to me and ask to use my amp just before they go on. I hand them a DI box and say, "Enjoy!".
  13. Lockdown has affected people in different ways... 😂
  14. Wow - what a bargain. Someone jump on this!
  15. Gave up on eBay years ago and moved to Gumtree. Plenty of tyre kickers still about though!
  16. If you don't coordinate outfits then why bother with guitars?
  17. This is why I always ask not to headline! 😄
  18. Bargain price for anyone after some new DR strings: https://www.amazon.co.uk/DR-Strings-DSB40-40-100-Handmade/dp/B0064RY9N2/ref=sr_1_24?dchild=1&keywords=dr+dragon+skin&qid=1619690118&sr=8-24
  19. I used to have that amp - you'll be surprised at how much grunt it has for its size. Lightweight too. I would try and get the seller down to 300.
  20. I've played a couple of Tribute JB-2s and they are fantastic instruments for the money. A P body with a J neck and two classic sounding J pups. Can't go wrong really.
