They're tolex, 15" cab is mint pretty much, 4x10 has a couple tiny marks, nothing much. Well looked after!! Cracking cab!!

Complete feeler, not desperate. I'm using my Markbass and Accugroove all the time at the moment, so would like to try something else. The Trace gear is awesome, I really rate it! I've been known to be a fantatic about Trace Elliot! Its solid, 100% reliable stuff!

Situation for me... I'm doing a circus gig at the mo, and don't gwt enough sound for me through my monitor, but anymore, and the band is too loud... Strange setup. I'm sat next to sax player, and he can't compete. Could this be used on the gig so I can have cans on and hear myself better, and the band have a comfortable level of bass coming from my mon?

If that is the idea, I might have this! PM maybe.... Very interested!!

Tbh guys, please avoid bad comments about Smith basses.. this is a porn/appreciation thread! Designed to appreciate Kens basses...... I'd expect a certain level of abuse if I said bad things about basses you guys own and love!!! I've dealt with Ken on several occasions, and admire the guy really. Yeah some bad things have gone on, and he's upset people, but that happens all the time with different people. We should be discussing the good side of things here! Really, I think the negative comments should be deleted...

Pics of mine coming soon... I'm a fan at least, the tone of any Smith bass just excites, and I really think its a fantastic thing.... I've sold two cherished basses to be able to get my Black Tiger.

Well, no.. afraid not. I've done my research though, and know its a good'n! I mean after hearing from Ken, and doing research, they all sound very similar across the range of his basses, and I know the BTiger is a great model. Al Turner? So aslong as I know it functions properly, and its in good condition, which its STUNNING, it should be fine. Trust me, i've asked loads of questions, so i'm confident its a good one!! Well, its coming from 'yybass' on here, who also has the Ritter, some other Smiths, and a few Foderas! He was using the Smith regular from what I know, so imagine its pretty fine.. and he didn't intend on selling it, but knew I wanted one, and wouldn't mind using the Fodera instead..I mean, come on!!

True, I'm just trying to think if losing two basses to get a Smith, which probably won't do any more for me than my beloved Overwater 6, is justifiable. I've sold the Status, and am looking at a Sei fretless, which to be honest might provide more for me than a Smith if I'm being realistic.

I'll have a think, maybe when I've finished uni and paid my debts, I'd rather get a Fodera then!!!

Whoahh, that's rather special!! One more string and were talking!! How much roughly would something like that be setting me back?

Still open to offers on the Overwater, however I've seen another British bass that's got me!! To be honest, I can't rwally bare to part with it, its such a special bass... If I don't get any tempting offers, its going to stay with me! I really think a lot of it!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for all the comments guys! I'll get some more pics taken of the Status, its a stunning stunning bass, honestly just awesome! I'm using it at work currently, and it is superb! Half of me makes me want to keep it, however, I need to prioritise, and know what i'm after!

I've already had first dibs taken on the Status! Neither are going anywhere until i've got a deal setup with a Smith however! I'll keep hunting around! I have been on Kens forum for ages, wish I had the bass to go with it!! Got feelers around, hopefully something will come up!!

Hey Al! Hope you're well! Yeah, although i'm definitely after a Smith to be honest. Its that sound, i've been listening to a few of Al Turners tracks, will buy his album sometime. Great sound!! And other stuff, the old Patitucci's. I've got a selection of Melvin Davis' albums too, just awesome! Btw, Melvin is a real gent, a fantastic guy to be in touch with!

I'm not sure whats triggered this, but I thought it time I attempted to live the dream, and try and get hold of what i've lustred after since I started playing the bass! I'd be so appreciative of someone being able to help me here!

I'm after getting hold of a Ken Smith (USA) 5 or more string bass. [u]Prefferably a 6 string![/u]Open to different models to be honest.

I'm putting up two basses that are really special to me, and I can't believe i'm even thinking of selling. I get very attached to things, especially the Overwater, but I have wanted a Smith for as long as I can remember!!


So potentially for sale, or ideally for trade/p.ex are..

Status S2 Classic Headless 6 string. Graphite neck, cocobolo top, walnut/mahogany body, gold hardware.

Overwater Progress Elite 7 string. AAAAA Flamed ash and maple, maple neck, gold hardware.
