Definitely bassic-bits cables from Dave (OBBM)! The very best service, and a phenomenal quality product!!! I use his instrument and speaker cable, and both are the best i've ever used!

No problem Rich! I've had a PM from a guy who saw my post on here, and will hopefully have a new bass in a few weeks.. all will be revealed! I do like Jons work though, I really must visit his shop sometime, and i'm very interested in the course he runs for bass building! Hope it goes well! Oh yes, and I love the green stuff!! Monster rig Best wishes! Matt

Sorry Col, would still like this mate.. but i've decided now to go for the bass I need, and have been saving up for.. Hence why I cannot afford this.. and that fact i've decided to go for something slightly more expensive. Little things need to be cut out, such as drinking larger amounts of alcohol on occasions! and purchasing items I don't 'really' need! I hope it sells soon though, and you get a good price for it! Its definitely a decent item! Btw, I exchanged several messages with Col, probably being a pain in the arse, and he's been a fantastic guy, so no one should question buying this!! I wish I could! Best wishes, Matt

Ah, what a shame... i've been watching this. If it were a six, i'd like to i'd be interested. I need to get something like this, same price range, as a second bass.. but dont want to go less that six. Does Jon keep many used basses, or basses of this price range in stock? Just wondering... Hope things go well! Matt
Right now my wall of Wals looks like this (apart from my Hybrid Pro I fretless). Sorry wombatboter, couldn't resist Jensenmann's MK III six-string - we just swapped - MK II Midi 4 for MK III 6 fretless and agreed on swapping back occasionally if need be So, here's another challenge for the short-fingered player... I reckon you'd even be able to surf with this bass tc
Six string fretless..... OH MY GOD!!!!! That IS awesome!!!!!!!! Oh my.....

It's phenomenal Nik.. oo its nice!! I could do with looking at getting the electronics serviced sometime though, as there is still a very slight distortion when playing hard. Its nice to play light sometimes though!! Lovellly sound.. infact, im going to do some practic now!!

Awesome set of cables arrived today from Dave! Im never going anywhere else for cables, they're awesome! My rig does sound slightly better with quality cable, and for the price you pay, I don't see how you could get anything better, surely the finest cables around... and the service Dave provides is undoubtedly the best!! Got me a thick speaker jack to jack for my V-Type rig, and a fantastic instrument cable using some very fine Klotz LaGrange cable, which is just phenomenal!!! Back soon Dave, Im one happy guy with my cable
After reading Overwater#1's post I'm going to find the One More Once CD and give it a go. I could even turn into a latin jazz fan.......
Definitely can't go wrong if you're into latin/big band jazz! It's fun and inspiring to here it! I got my copy from BadLands Music on Ebay.

Fantastic! Well, if you do have the bass back in your possession sometime, i'd absolutely love to see it in the flesh! Even if you don't get it back, i'l PM you my number, and will have to meet up sometime!! Anytime, it'd be great to meet you! I live in Poulton-le-Fylde. I only wish I had a spare £3k.. i'l put an extra couple of lucky dips on Saturday!!
Thanks for the thoughts (and those of Greeneking too). I'm based just outside Blackpool, although the bass currently resides in the Gallery in Camden as stated earlier. Whilst I agree with Greeneking's "love 'em or hate 'em" comments, for me it's the most stunning bass I've ever seen in the flesh (well, along with the 5 string buckeye burl Triple O in Ed Roman's in Vegas) by a considerable margin. As I say, it breaks my heart to sell it, but it's not going to do me any favours now keeping it. One thing I will say, it will not be going any lower than this pricewise. If I can't sell it at this price, it stays, if only to look at!
Holy S**T....that is the most stunning bass, the workmanship and detail looks phenomenal! That is extremely impressive! I didn't realise there were any knocking about in the UK! Where abouts in the North West are you based? I'd love to see it in person!! Hope it works out for you, and that things go well with regards to health
Songs without lyrics shouldn't have names? What like 90% of classical, 70% of Jazz and plenty from every other style under the sun? Anthony and all the musicians in this band have played with tons of singes, groups and bands. I don't hear sterile playing, I hear top musicians (not just technically either) playing good music. I've transcribed and can play most of the songs from the CD this track comes from and I hear great crossover latin jazz/hard swing with fantastic arrangements and top notch, sensitive playing. Tbh even if the music isn't your taste have a go at trying to play the bass line
Would you mind letting me have a copy of your transcriptions at all? Depending, I would even buy some transcriptions! I'd love to get some of Anthonys transcriptions to study his playing in greater depth! He is just awesome!! Thanks very much!! Matt

I must say, I guess my music tastes are very different to most people here. The main bass playing I do is big band, swing bands and similar, then show and theatre work. I have just bought a copy of Michel Camilo-One More Once, which is the CD that youtube clip is taken from. The CD is much tighter, sections sound pretty much perfection!! Anthony Jackson is my idol! I love everything about his playing, and he completely changes the sound of Michels band, and brings it alive! I'd absolutely love to meet the guy!!! One More Once is a CD I listen to over and over and over, its just awesome!!!
