Im just wondering why there is no interest, yet it looks to be a stunning instrument!! There must be some reason, anyone? Cheers! Matt

8. If you don't mind posting it, I'd like the first dibs on it.. I was here first! although I don't wanna be an a*se, so, whatevers best!
9. How much will postage cost for this do you reckon? If you could let me know, I may well take this from you.. !! Unfortunately, Ipswich is too far to walk, and until I take my driving test, im afraid I won't be able to pick it up... I'd have to weigh it all up, and work out what parts I want to fit. I'd of taken the mighty mite neck though.. Anyway, im definately interested! You dont have a pic by any chance do you? No prob if not.. !! Many thanks! Matt
10.
Care to enlighten us?
A Wal ProIIE?
11. Is it a laminated bass, or solid timber? Are there any makers names inside, country of origin, or date?
12.
And we were all younger...of course.
...and I wasn't even born This one does seem heavy, but I personally feel better playing a heavy bass. I have played much lighter basses, and never feel comfortable with them...Heavier feels more solid, I don't know, its a personal mentality, much the same as why I prefer to play 6 or more strings, I like the size and the feel of a wide neck in my hands, although the two extra strings are fantastic! I probably wont be saying that about weight in 20 or so years time, but at 17, Im making the most of it!
13. Thats quite a steal.. I have one on the floor plugged in right now, and its a cool tool to use! I wish i'd of waited for this one, im sure I paid nearly twice this for mine a few months back? Buy it!!
14. Wow.. what a great way to start this thread.. I am in awe with that bass, that is just amazing! Definately has to be the ultimate Wal bass! So much attention to detail, all those little aspects and features he's included really make it something very special!! It's great to see such detailed pictures of the build process, and to realise what a personal thing that bass must be to you. So.. would you ever sell it? Stupid question! My word... yes, that is one truly stunning bass. How far from Blackpool is Hampshire? I'd love to see that bass first hand one day! Thanks for the pictures!
15. After turning down the gain on the amp a touch, even though the clip light wasn't coming on, the distortion has gone. There is still some slightly from the E string, but the poles are very high under that string. Sorted!! Cheers!
16. No problem, I have a habit of wrong punctuation.. Anyway.. I'd love to see some close ups of your MkIII!!!! Its jaw-droppingly stunning.. ! Also, does anyone notice any similarities between Overwater basses and Wal basses? I've seen as few pictures recently that really show a couple of subtle similarities between Overwaters and the later Wal instruments, MkIII especially. Maybe its just me though..??
17. I knew I'd of done something wrong... Has someone just moved this? Theres me trying to delete the thread and make a new one in porn..
+1 And while we're there, can we punctuate it as Wals (plural) rather than Wal's (possessive) please?
Yeah.. im no good at English either. Sorry guys.. Im an idiot, I know.. This hasn't got off to a good start.. Anyways....
18. Hey guys.. Like my other thread, you've seen that I've recently discovered Wals, and have found out that they are such fantastic instruments, with an equally fantastic and interesting history. I have seen that there is a huge following for these basses, so I'd like this thread to be devoted to the appreciation of Wals, their colourful history, stories... and pictures! Il stick my pictures up soon if this thread takes off, and by looking at my other Wal thread, I think it might take off quite rapidly! I have already put up too many pictures, so I wont slow BassChat down right now.. Anyways... over to you! Cheers! Matt
19. I might try that, although won't adjust it much as it isn't my instrument.... yet! If I decide to buy the bass, then il get someone to go over the electronics for me, and check the transistors. I remember my friend saying that it was the two little clip things had broken on that one pot. It isn't much of a problem, as its set to a beautiful tone as is now, but it would be useful to know how/if it could be fixed. Hey Rich... il give you £350 if you want to get rid? £20 profit to you, I know im losing out.. but I wouldn't mind that !! I wasn't going to post the serial, if its safe though.... Its PB1260, which dates it at '78 roughly is it? It is heavy I guess, but I don't notice it one bit, as its a similar weight to my Overwater it seems. I have never really done alot of playing on lighter basses, although if I use the Precision or the RBX Yammy thing in college, they feel like toys.. !! There certainly is a lot of interest in this bass, and Wal's in general on here... is there a 'Show your Wal's' thread, or 'Early Wal Basses'... hmmmm.. It would be great to see everyones early Wal basses. I think the Mk III basses are stuning though, id love to get one of them!! I've seen the picture of the rare 6 string Mk III, now that would be right up my street!!
20. What are the signs of transistor degrading? When I pluck very hard, there is some distortion... maybe a duff battery though I think. The plastic is in A1 nick, battery cover is fine.. !! The knob on the bottom right of the bass is actually damaged slightly. There is no connection between it and the pot, although the pot is fine, and can be adjusted with removal of the scratch plate I believe. I think a connection between that and the pot needs replacing or fixing some how, but I haven't dared to remove the scratch plate to see how it could be fixed.
21.
So long as it's not an over aroused BC member
Dirty man.. haha! Nice one!!! Never know mate, its tempting.... HAHA!
