I broke an A string the other weekend about 4 bars into the first song. No spares and no backup bass. I had to remove the offending string mid song and keep playing without it. This lead me to my question - How often do you change your strings? My first bass went for 10 years without a string change! Never broke one, stayed in tune fairly well, no problems. After deciding to change the string on a whim I then went through about 3 A strings in a couple of the months! I suppose I did wipe the strings down after each gig which seemed to keep them in good condition. My current bass (a Squier CV jazz which I bought from this forum about 4 years ago) has done me proud for about 4 years without a string change until now? I read an interview with Matt Freeman form Rancid who said that he avoided changing the strings on his 70's P bass as he didn't want to do anything to change it. So I just put on a set of Fender nickel coats strings as they were only 12.99. Any thoughts?

Pair of Peavey Eurosys 1M and 1PM passive 12" stage monitors - £50 for the pair collected Both speakers are working, although it's worth noting that they used to be an active/passive pair, but the 1PM amp stopped working, so it was rewired to use as a passive speaker. The amp might be repairable but this not something that I would dare attempt! All the amp guts are still in there, just bypassed directly to a jack socket on the back (the old jack output socket). Both speakers are well used but in good condition for their age. They both accept jack inputs only. Collection from Louth, Lincolnshire. Marshall Bluesbreaker 2 Guitar overdrive pedal - £20 inc. postage I bought this a while ago for my guitar pedalboard. But since then, I've bought an amp with an overdrive channel so it's not getting used. The pedal is in good condition and working well. I have remove the rubber cover form the bottom and replaced it with velcro so that it fixed to the pedalboard better (the velcro kept coming unstuck from the rubber!). I will include the original rubber base if you would like to replace it.

Rack of 4 Sennheiser Freeport Handheld wireless microphones - £350 I have a set of 4 Sennheiser freeport wireless microphones for sale. They are in good condition. There are 4 sets in total in a rack (this is the maximum number you can run in parallel on channel 70). So it's a complete set up read to go. Included in the sale is:

4 x Freeport Handheld trasmitters
4 x Freeport 1/2 rack sized receivers
4 x Sennheiser NT-2 Power supplies
2 x 1U rack shelves
1 x 2U rack to hold recievers
1 x small case to hold microphones
The systems has been well looked after, most of the mics have been sat around unused since the frequencies changed at the start of 2012 as we also have other systems that run on channel 70. 2 of the handheld mics have broken fixing rings to hold the battery compartments closed. I have fixed them by putting electrical tape around the ring to strengthen it. If this bothers you, Sennheiser spares sell the individual fixing rings as spares for 2.86 each...http://spares.sennhe...ixing-ring.html I would prefer this item to be collection only but if postage is required It will cost about £30 (most of that cost is the insurance they add on to cover the parcel to the full value!) 1 x Silver BNC aerial - Yours for the cost of postage! Call it a quid! This aerial is spare from a Sennheiser EW100 System and is no longer needed - it's an odd one so only good if you have lost one! 2 x Plastic BNC Aerials from Sennheiser EW100 - £7.50 inc. postage These are in good condition and came from a system that we have now connected to an aerial distribution amp so they are going spare. These are the more modern ones from the G3 systems 2 x Sennheiser NT-2 Power Supplies - £7.50 each inc. postage Here are 2 spare power supplies. These are the same as the ones that come with the freeport mics, but I actually got them with some EW100 receivers that I bought so they most work on more that just the freeports - I don't need them as we have a power distribution system that powers all of our receivers. I have for sale a pair of peavey stage monitors. They were originally 1 active and 1 passive ad linked together until the amp packed up in one of them. It has been opened up and rewired so that they are now both passive speakers. We have been using them with a 2 channel power amp for our church stage monitors, but are slowly progressing to using in ears, so are having a clear out. To be fair, the speakers don't seem to have a lot of top end (I'm not sure if there is any tweeter or crossover in the box, maybe they need a bit of work to sort them out?) Also, one of the speakers has a dodgy jack socket which probably just needs resoldering. With this in mind I have priced them to sell at £50 for the pair. Collection only from Louth in Lincolnshire. I'll add some images as soon as I can, but in the mean time, here are some of me playing - one of the monitors can be seen on the floor!
