8. To get me out of a bad mood... I like to listen to Basket Case by Green Day. At the minute the latest Less Than Jake Album always puts me in a good mood. Also Should I stay or should I go by The Clash.
9. I tried both the CV and VM Jazz when I was looking and found the CV had a much nicer feel. I love the feel of the neck - really well finished. I picked mine up on here for about £200 second hand.
10. I've been giving some free Bass lessons recently to a friends daughter and it got me thinking about doing some paid lessons to earn a bit more money, but I'm not really sure where to start. I've been playing bass for about 15 years and whist I have played in various bands over years, I've never really had any formal lessons myself or concentrated on my theory. In an attempt to rectify this, I've been working trough my music theory grades and am on grade 2. Although I've not actually sat them exams yet. How important is it to have the grades before I start teaching and what level should I aim to get to. Also is there some kind of body for bass tutors, a friend of mine is registered to teach drums with a website called drumsense. Not sure if there is something for bass that is worth doing.
11. I have an m-audio fast track for sale. No box. Comes with USB cable and drivers CD (although latest drivers are on their website). I've had it for about 5 years and used it for recording and to connect my computer up to my hifi. It has 2 inputs; an XLR mic input with pre-amp and a guitar/line input. It has phono outputs to connect up to your monitors. and a headphone jack on the front. I am selling this as I have just upgraded to a Focusrite Saffire interface. I found the interface a bit quiet for recording my passive bass so bought one with a bit more control. How does £50 plus postage sound. The cheapest I've seen them new is about £90.
12. Bump for a cracking cabinet. If only it was the mini 48 for sale....
13. These amps are great! Free bump. If you do buy this amp, I have a custom made cover from roqsolid that you can have for the price of postage. They made the wrong size cover for mine and didn't want it back. been sat in the loft for ages
14. Would you consider a trade for my M-AUDIO Fast track USB interface + cash your way?
15. Hi all, Just though I'd share a good experience with you. I bought an MXR M-80 Bass DI+ (off another forum member) which was faulty. So I was stuck with a pedal that didn't work and could not get my money back. I got in touch with Guitar Aid London and spoke to Greg. He was really helpful, I posted it down to him. He repaired the pedal (re-soldered all the connections etc) and posted it back. He charged me £20 + the postage (which was about £6.50 each way using special delivery). Overall, I'm really pleased. Nice guy - took time to sort the problems out and I can't really argue with £20. I would recommend him if you have any similar problems. Cheers, Jim
16. Bought an MXR M80 Bass DI from Dan. Pedal looked pristine, but was faulty. He started off with lots of helpful advice to check the pedal, but when I explained that it was definitely a problem with the pedal he wasn't interested. After much messing around, he stopped replying to my PM's. 3 Months later, and the pedal has been sent off for repair, it's better -but is still not 100%. In the end this has cost me the almost the price of a new pedal and lot more faffing around than I would have hoped for. I don't like giving negative feedback, but I have not had a good experience with this transaction.
17. Tony just bought an Apple laptop from me. Easy to deal with. Would do business with again. Cheers

21. I've had a bit of interest in this since I posted a message in a thread somewhere, so I thought I'd stick something in here about it. Photos: http://gallery.me.com/james.cartwright#100137 It's a 550Mhz G4 Processor with 512mb ram, CD-RW. It has been well used and has the battle scars to prove it. It has OS X 10.3.9 pre-installed, although no discs are provided. It comes with a charger and a leather laptop case. Based on spec and condition, £100 + £10 postage seems reasonable. They are going for about £60 for a spares and repairs one on ebay. This one is fully working. Note that this laptop does NOT have bluetooth or wireless. You would need to get an airport card, or I might be able to dig out a USB wireless adaptor for an extra £5 if needed.
