COG Grand Tarkin Bass Fuzz Possibly the big daddy of bass Big Muffs, this starts with a huge but very controlled example of the classic fuzz sound. In addition, it has a mid-control which has the standard Muff EQ in the centre and can either boost the midrange to cut through the mix better or cut the mids even more for really massive sounding fuzz. It has plenty of low end, but also has a blendable clean signal with a little high-end roll off to make it sit well next to the fuzz side. An added extra to the usual specs is a 3-position switch to alter the voice from Russian/Ram’s Head/NYC. It is a subtle shift, but brings out different timbres in the fuzz. The white LED is pretty vicious so has a little dab of nail polish for retinal safety, which can easily be removed if desired, and I have put my usual grippy feet on the bottom. £100 Posted
