  1. Helpful Reply from laney
  2. Keeping pigs together - red snapper
  3. Os Mutantes are excellent and really push the psychedelic angle. Also the sole album by Arthur Verocai is brilliant. Some really creative arrangements.
  4. Could someone with the 500w head measure the distance between feet. Just checking it would fit on a BF one10 horizontally. Thanks!
  5. The definitely get something that's going to bring you joy! That sounds draining and you deserve a treat.
  6. No advice on the Fender shaped medium scale, but just a note of support. I was in a similar situation with a supportive partner and a small inheritance... I got a Warwick star bass and (once I got used to how it sits on the strap) it's been amazing. The 32" scale works better than 30, it just fits my hand perfectly.
  7. We get that from them quite a lot and we live on a main road with parking outside. It's usually that the driver ran out of time in their round. I just avoid Evri as far as possible. Sometimes they've claimed they've delivered an item and it's later turned up at a completely different house or just lost.
  8. Really nice guitar amp for home practice. 20w 10inch speaker. It has switchable valve emulation which is kind of interesting. Good range of tones. Full specs here https://blackstaramps.com/silverline/ Home use only so in great condition. Have original box so can post at cost.
  9. You could get a looper and do something like this
  10. Victor wooten - The music lesson Not just for bass.
  11. Christopher small - music of the common tongue Jace Clayton - Uproot: Travels in 21st-Century Music and Digital Culture Barry Lesser and linda Ruth salter - Spaces Speak, Are You Listening?: Experiencing Aural Architecture All world-view changing in their own way. +1 on the mingus biography. Very instructive for life. Also Michael Veal - Dub: Soundscapes and Shattered Songs in Jamaican Reggae And Lloyd Bradley - bass culture
  12. Just received a barefaced one10 from Martin at a decent price. Well packed and excellent condition. Lovely human to deal with 👍
  13. Raining blood - slayer
  14. If it falls through let me know!
  15. My scales are broken at the moment but I have a previous note of 4.2kg. It feels lighter as it's so well balanced.
  16. That's interesting, I was thinking of getting a single (10 or 12) and then saving up for a second only if needed. I guess the lfsys frfr can be shaped well with the amps eq, especially the tilt. Don't need it straight away so time to save and research.
  17. I can dream of the Dubster, but I don't think I can find a place for it in the house. Certainly won't get it under the Xmas tree this year... All the reading I've been doing suggests barefaced is the way to go.
  18. Best - my new Warwick star bass fretless as am early Xmas present last month. Does everything I hoped, sounds great and feels great. Worst - ghs pressure wound strings. The high tension seems to have triggered a load of hand pain. More or less under control now I've moved to shorter scales and tape wound strings. Thought I wanted high tension, my body disagrees!
  19. Definitely think I'll get the 500 head in the new year. Any recommendations for portable cabs that would be good for ska/reggae?
  20. John just bought a sire v7 fretless off me. Lovely guy to deal with, paid quickly and let me know it had got there safely. Thanks John
  21. Have you tried using finger 3 for the 5th? that frees up your 4th finger for the minor third on the way down.
  22. Finally got round to some new pics. I was careful not to play it so I don't change my mind again...
  23. Well I had a really draining day today, i was feeling exhausted and flat but just made the effort to blast through some songs on headphones and I feel like myself again! The power of bass!
