1. I love the colour! Good to have something to brighten things up. Another grey day here.
2. Cheers Mike you posted as I was replying. I wasn't sure that the given levels for the LH pre output were 'line' but evidently so. Learning all the time
3. Well not for the 1st time I can answer my own question. I'll put it here for the benfit of anyone that comes along. The pre on the LH500 includes EQ, limiter and volume before the FX out. Using FX out to the line level input on the Pro does work with the BassPOD output feeding back in to the LH power amp but the whole thing sounds better with the bass going into the BassPOD and just using the power amp on the LH via the FX loop return. The LH volume then has no effect and it's all down to the settings on the BassPOD. Peter
4. I've got a back up amp (Hartke LH500) and I'm looking at pairing it up with the BassPOD XT Pro that I got from Anndra (Lysdexia). Now conventionally I would input the bass (signal level) into the front of the Pro and take the analog 'model' o/p into the FX return of the amp bypassing the pre, EQ and limiter. The Pro manual stresses not to put the analog out into the amp pre as it's too hot. (I tried carefully with my Cube 30 and it's definately a no no). So have I got it right here? Is an amp's FX loop generally between the pre amp and the power amp? If this is the case can I input through the amp's pre as per normal and take the FX loops out and run it into the back of the Pro as a 'line level input'? (0dB to 4dB from the LH manual) and then take the Pro's analog o/p back into the LH FX loop in for feeding to the power amp? I'd rather use the nice valve pre on the amp. Peter
5. Many thanks Eddie. I'm a thinking that I would be Basschatter X My 4 string ACG Harlot is looking good for Monday! Weyhey!! Keep well and no apologies needed. Nice to help sort out the passage of a great bass from one fine gent to another. Peter
6. Did someone say something? pm to you Ped
7. Bought Anndra's BassPod XT Pro Excellent delivery (held item while I was away) and great kit! Thanks Peter
8. I sold Col my Allparts neck, he was a real pleasure to deal with. Peter
9. Looking forward to the review Al Peter
10. Yep funnily enough mine wasn't locked when I got it?? Luckily I did my intonation and discovered this before I changed to nickels Otherwise I'd of been the one doing the 'Xmas Cracker puzzle' as well.
11. Hmmm.. with respect to the above poster my Ric's sound great through a LMII. The amps fairly transparent so why wouldn't they? Aguilar GS112 cabs.
12. A Spector Euro NT for £500? Is it new? They are between £1000 and £1600 new - so buy it. I love my 4.
13.
I know I am gonna get flamed for this - and picking on a newbie as well; but better at what?
Disgusting, you should know better picking on a newbie like that! Mods!!
14. +1 on the Gary Willis site, very user friendly. Peter
15. I'll refrain from calling you a nice 'kid' as I'm an old git who realises it's a bit patronising Great bass, I've always lusted after an Alembic. Jeez just sometimes I wish I was young - sometimes
16. I'm seriously good. And seriously deluded
17. I did wonder at the time it takes to do all the photo's and comparisons etc and they didn't put a new set of strings on a bass (Mayones) to give it a fair assessment. It was interesting to see the Nordy do so well. The GB looked stunning too. I thought the GMR multi laminate neck thru made it the prettiest though. I do think it would have been interesting to put my old (as in mine no more) 5 string ACG Harlot up against them all. The ACG 01 pre-amp comparison alongside the more conventional pre's there would of proven fascinating and the price/quality and to me, ascetics would have been a very worthwhile comparison methinks.
18.
...and my quest for less knobs seems to have paid off.

One for the best Basschat quote I think!!
I actually had a 'deja vu' Finnbass moment there
19. Hmmm I recognise that photo. Use it whydoncha?
20. Hartke is where the Heart is. Who needs advertising executives Good to hear of other positive experiences with these amps. I'm must try putting the Sovtec back and doing a comparo with the Tung Sol Peter
21. I was in the BassMerchant today (and yesterday. Tomorrow too?) And these have gone up to 1k there, no case. I bought some matching straplocks and a case 4 mine. I'm glad I only visit occasionally or I'd be broke!
22. That sounds good Martin, must give mine some more 'exercise'.
23. I've just had another noodle. It's funny how coming back to it gives a better impression sometimes. It's ace! Loads of mwaa, the stuff I've always looked for and never found. This neck is staying put Using just the bridge pup and getting honk + mwaa is where it's at.
24. pm'd in order of query
