1. £1150 to £1000, that's a 13% reduction in times of 'raging' inflation
2. What a stunning trio. And the CS didn't even get a mention. Peter
3. Tort would look good, white abalone too?
4. Hiya all I'm putting my white non export Aerodyne up for sale. It's new and virtually unplayed. It's only seen a few minutes of noodling at home and is completely unmarked. It's the CIJ model with the P/J pup config. Comes with a nice fitted hardcase. Visits to view welcome (Kendal). No trades, £440. Isn't she pretty Peter
5. Bump with reduced price. Peter
6. Looks like a Fender. It therefore follows that it looks horrible does it not?
7. I'm surprised there's been not an iota of interest in this rather special bass I'm open to offers, trying it out is not a problem and recommended. I'm going to wait a month or two (nearer Xmas) and then it's Flea on fleabay time. This really is an exception bass. Peter
8. Now no longer for sale. Peter
9.
"this must be a USA" post
My initial thoughts too. It's not just you Peter
10. Surprised there's no comments for a very stunning bass? Great Pre by all accounts too. If it'd been a knackered old Fender P the thread would be into page 10! Bump
11. Hi I'm the guy that 'created' this bass and it's good to hear affirmations as to the great tone this bass delivers. I was worried it was only me. Great looking too with a very playable neck. Bump
12. Relisted with a lower reserve (£450) and a BIN reduced by £100 and still with Brooklyn Gear strap and Trussrod tool. Peter
13. I've had this bass on eBay for a while now: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=220285541158 I expect many of you are already aware Peter
14. Bump before I eBay this wonderful bass. Lost opportunities? Offers considered. Peter
15. Well not quite a gig but... I got together with 3 guys last night, lead, rhythm and a drummer and we done good. 1st time I've played with anyone else in over 10 years They were pleased and it looks like a regular thing. Aiming for some local pub gigs around Penrith in the Spring Well chuffed, major hurdle overcome really.
16. Overwater is my guess (progress)
17. I feel that for several reasons this bass warrants the title of being just that little bit 'special'. Why? Well it's a 97 model with a Lane Poor Pup, that happens to have the Modulus logo on it too. The headstock also has the 'Flea' silly toothy grin logo. Not all Flea basses have these attributes! The finish is just superb and to say it's professionally applied would be a massive understatement. The (filed) BadassII replaced the original Gotoh bridge and although I can't comment it apparently made a significant improvement. Marcus may like to say how much. The ACG filter bass preamp is not only a great addition to any bass, it really makes this particular bass sing! A top quality and very useable addition. The condition is pretty much exceptional too with no dings etc. I really don't want to eBay this and I know that times are hard but I aint giving it away. If you want to make an offer the worse that can happen is that I say 'you're avin a laugh' EBay may be the answer as I've no doubt as to the desireability of this crackin' bass. Next up will be a new Fender Aerodyne non export in Oly white with hardcase Peter
18. Hehe, your comment wasn't taken as sarky Ben.
19.
I take it you’re going to be a mature student?
It depends what you mean by 'mature' Ben? I'm 54 if that helps So I guess I have to try to be mature.
20.
What's up... not enough Modulus Flea basses up for sale at the moment
So it would seem Nice Avatar John.
21. A gentle bump for this the 'Real Deal' of Fleabasses.
22. Yes my TRB5P is quiet too except for the treble issue. When the battery goes noisy is often the 1st symptom.
23. I disagree with some of the stuff on here in that Yes aren't to me overly complicated, you just need to give the music time to make complete sense of it. I've finally started enjoying Capt. Beefheart (Trout Mask Replica) but it took a lot of listening to get there - well worth it though. As for:
The lyrics were always daft and /or pretentious and delivered with such full on "sincerity" that despite Jon's attempts to justify them as "sound pictures" etc we all still sniggered behind our hands .. His voice didn't help, a problem he shares with Geddy IMHO ..
The lyrics are superb. They really make the best use of Anderson's incredible voice. Making 'sense' outta them is kinda fun too. I still have the 1st 4 albums and reckon they lost it a bit (not all) after CTTE.
24. This Flea is obviously the Ultimate - fridge magnet I'm starting Uni in a week and realising that owning 19 basses (OCD??) and struggling to put petrol in the car/food in myself is plain stupid. So why sell the Modulus? Because I think it's a highly desirable bass that'll sell and make a significant difference to my funds. I bought this beautifully finished bass (don't do sparkle) from Marcus and to quote the fine fella himself:
Modulus Flea Bass 1997 (Very Early made in the first batch) Lane Poor Pickup (The Uba Rare one with the Modulus Logo) Headstock has the "Flea Grin" Logo Body is very interestingly laminate Top ! One Piece Swamp Ash with Alder Top Refinished by Dave Wilson in THE most sexy sunburst you've ever seen.... The Back is the highest Gloss Black you've ever seen Dave Finishes instruments for Stephan Sobell (makes £15k accoustics) I spent a day with Dave as he finished this instrument and every detail is perfection The Respray alone cost £350 ! New Badass II Bridge Custom Made Clear Scratch Plate completes the look Comes with Gator Hard Case
I'm a huge fan of Alan's ACG Pre-amp and have fitted a ACG02 to the Modulus with stunning results. Anyone interested is welcome to come round, have a cuppa and try it. I'm looking for £1000 and obviously no trades as that defeats the whole point I'd rather not send by courier but will if I have to. Willing to travel down the M6 a ways etc. Hopefully the photobucket folder will, as if by magic, appear here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v111/Wra...Modulus%20Flea/ Peter
25. What a wonderful opportunity, the creation of a Darkstar Dearmond Starfire! Sadly impending Uni means that I've presently got 7 basses put aside for selling at the moment so buying another AND investing in upgrading it would be complete and utter madness (why oh why is my mind straying to the possibility of trades - doh). Mind you the fact that one of these hasn't been grabbed yet is also complete madness
