I've got an immaculate gloss black Erle Korpus Epi T'bird Limited Edition for sale if anyone happens to be interested. White was so last year! The Goth is matt black btw. It's had the neck dive sorted too.

Irritating Intonation Issues

Yep Strobostomps are the business for intonation. -
I wouldn't care if it was bloody Lena Zavaroni Alan you enjoyed yourself and that's what it's about You don't know how envious I am that you are in a regular gigging band where you hone your skills and perform regularly. I went to Jam night last night and ended up stopping the 1st song in front of a packed Dickie Doodles because the guitarist was playing Red House in a different key (he didn't know what key!) and I missed the bleedin' intro. Then we discovered that I knew none of the songs he knew and reverted to a 12 bar bloody mixolydiam jam! Oh for a chance to hone some numbers without a packed house in front of you and with some actual communication Look forward to your Elvis tour, tongue in cheek but actually some great songs. Peter

Irritating Intonation Issues
GreeneKing replied to WithoutRisk_BassPlayer's topic in Repairs and Technical
Theoretically perfect intonation is impossible. Evidently. A perfect neck is set to intonate according to the natural harmonics, trouble is along came someone clever and chose equal temperment as the way ahead for Western music. So there will always be a slight difference that can't be adjusted out. Evidently -

Recent and 1st Modulus Flea ownership has made he appreciate these basses. That is stunning!
I admire these over Fender!
Schhhh you can't say that, the Fender Mafia have ears! I admire a lot over Fender myself but there's no accounting for taste I've seen this bass in 'ein Fleish' and golden age of Warwick it surely is. If I wasn't shedding too many basses I'd be seriously tempted.

I found that the anticipation just sort of simmered nicely fuelled by updates and then all of a sudden there she was, ready. A bit like having children, at least from a blokes viewpoint

I thought I'd update on the Flea. I'm absolutely loving it, popped some new strings on today (EB Ultra Slinkeys) and actually had a raise the action a smidge, so graphite necks do move a bit I'm loving the tone when a little bit of bass is boosted and the mids are very upper middy which is great for a slappin' an a poppin' if that's your thing. Basically, I'm loving it, oops must stop repeating myself.
-
Regardless of practicalities I think it's visually stunning and would suit some black hardware.

Well my Flea should be played in a market, my Harlot on the streets or in the back of a Ford Mondeo and the Warmoth aggressively whilst circling a light bulb!

Here is my Erle Korpus Epi Thunderbird in gloss black (not the Goth model). This bass is absolutely mint and normally retails for more than the standard or matt black models. I've relocated the front strap lock to eliminate the neck dive and as I've modded an overwater strap (with Schaller straplocks) to fit it'll be included in the sale. Yes there is an extra screw in the back of the neck where my 1st relocation attempt failed but I'll guarentee it's not an issue. £200 + P&P Next bass up for sale is my Les Evans. This may appeal to those interested in something different but not at all radical. This custom bass was made in Liverpool by a builder whose work is seldom seen. It is more than just well made, it's built like a brick shithouse while retaining real ascetic qualities (the body contours are particularly stunning). The neck is a 7 piece laminate and the pickups are Kent Armstrong running through a John East U-Retro with sweepable mid and coil switching. All hardware is top quality Schaller and the bridge is adjustable through a significant range. The bass is grey, which may sound drab but it actually works very well with the gold hardware. The neck on this bass is fairly triangular in shape and is very slim and would suit those with small hands. I've got big uns and I still find it comfortable to play. This is seriously well made instrument. So here it is, £500 + P&P Peter

I'm having a general sort out and up for grabs is my new BBT210S Yamaha cab, it's a 4 ohm cab rated at 250W RMS. This cab is new and failing digging it out from the back of my very 'busy' box room they look like this: http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics.../6/8/232068.jpg It's a well made 2x 10" with a horn complete with a pad to adjust it. I'm looking for £200 ideally collected but I'm prepared to travel a reasonable distance/meet up. Also up for sale is a mint Laney R1 combo, specs as: Power RMS 65 Watts Inputs 2: Normal & High Equalisation Bass, Parametric Mid, Treble FX Loop(s) Yes Impedance Minimum 4 ohms Drivers 10" Celestion + Switchable Horn Cabinet Design Plywood cabinet construction. Dual Position "Kickback" Cabinet design. Rugged construction with metal corners, rubber feet, strap handle & kick proof metal grill Headphone Socket Yes Enhance Yes Compressor Switchable with "On" status light Limiter Fixed Internal DI Socket Yes: Pre EQ XLR Tuner Output Socket Yes Kick Proof Metal Grill Yes Weight 22kg Dimensions (mm) 381 x 335 x 393 I'm looking for £100 for this essentially new mini combo. Can post for reasonable amount. Peter

I did a trade with cash yesterday with Marcus, my Villex Bob Glaub and his Modulus. Met in person and a very genuine fella. Great to deal with in all respects. Nice one mark. Peter

I dealt with John in person the other day. A top fella, have no qualms. he also introduced me to Dave Wilson in Haltwhistle who made us all most welcome. Peter

I've bought a fair bit of stuff from Dave over the years and its about time I gave him some +ve feedback. Speakon cable arrived and wow, brilliant and 3 times the thickness of shop offerings. Peter
