Lovely basses. I miss my black one. If I hadn't just bought a new Lakland Skyline P/J for £700 I'd be seriously tempted.
Lovely in red too....

Thanks Nick. It's the GZRs that I was after I'm afraid. Hope all's well with you.

Are these the Geezer Butler set Nick?
If so I'll tek 'em (My best attempt at a Cumbrian accent).
Peter
Edited to add, I checked, sadly they aren't (The GB ones are GZR-PJ).

There were 9 when I first looked, 7 when I started ordering mine, 5 when I finished and a friend bought the last one on my recommendation.
Very pleased with the bass. First Plek'd fretboard and it is extremely good.
Well chuffed.

This was mine. The legend is deserved.

Could you share the string spacing at the bridge and nut width, please ?
Thanks.
No problem. At the nut it's 8.5 to 9mm and at the bridge 18.5 to 19mm. Fairly standard. The nut width is about 44mm.

This has been a hard decision and if the bass doesn't sell I can live with it. Since hanging up my gigging aspirations I've not touched a bass for about a couple of months. I have 4 of them sat doing nothing and I spend all my creative time with my little tenor Uke, absolutely loving it
I bought this bass from the bass merchant for £1375 and it's only seen about an hour of home practice so it's effectively new. You could save a fortune! Saying that it's a 'soft aged' relic'd bass.
I haven't been a fan of relic'd basses at all and I have said as much in this forum. The bass is an aged and slightly scuffed and chipped fiesta red with lightly tarnished hardware. I absolutely love it! Don't ask me why. It just works, really well. The neck of course is perfect, unmarked and everything is perfect from a construction and playability point of view. It shouts Fender Custom Shop quality very loudly.
So it's a P bass with a Delano pickup and a Glockenklang 2 EQ with a passive mode and tone control. The dots are abalone and it's 34" scale. The fretboard is dark, grained and quite stunning. A zero fret too. I wanted a P5 and couldn't have found a better one.
The added bonus is that it weighs 7.5lbs!
It came with a Sandberg gig bag and I also have a Thomann generic hard case that I can ship it in. It's really lovely but I think I've said that already
Lots of photos will follow. Collection would be best from Kendal but I can ship at cost.

Hmmmm! so tempted.
If you're close to Kendal you're welcome to try.

A better 5 string bass for the money you will not find imo. In fact you could pay much more and do far worse.
Will trade for a nice Tenor Uke if there is that slim chance out there

They were when I first saw the Crazy World of, Drachen Theaker on drums and Vincent Crane on Hammond. Both impressive players.
(Julian) Paul Brown is my friend.

Not so modern or different from the shows of The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown in 1967 or Screaming Lord Such in the early 60's.
Careful. I know a lovely man who was one of Arfur's Kingdom Come and he's an accomplished musician

Agree with the rose tinted specs idea. There have always been bands with audiences that appreciate musicianship and listen with rapt attention to people just playing well. There have also been artists who get away with murder but put on a good show. The usual spectrum in between of course.
I enjoy all these extremes but I'm aware that some punters get bored easily and need to be entertained by something 'flash'. Maybe that's what has changed in the age of instant gratification?

A brief update with specs:
The bass weight is 8.5ibs and the string spacing is 19mm at the bridge, 9mm at the nut.
The bass includes Schaller strap locks and will ship in a hard case.

A stunning pearlescent white Bass Collection made in Japan in 1991 in great condition. Recently fitted with a GlockenKlang 2 EQ pre-amp that has a passive as well as an active mode with passive tone control and blend. 34" scale. I'm winding down my bass playing and have too many basses. Can be viewed and tried in Kendal.
I bought this from Mick and it's had a little fettling and a new pre. It's rather lovely but 5 basses and not really playing makes no sense.
£300, collection preferred, deliver can be arranged.

This is an interesting thread for me at the moment.
Having just quit my band of 6 years, I've lost all desire to play. Still listening to a bit of music everyday, but only picking up a bass for about 30 minutes a week, and that's if I'm lucky, or simply bothered. I simply don't have any desire to play, let alone join bands. I just feel like I've got as good as I ever will, and done with the instrument what I'm capable of.
I've decided to give it 3 months. I'f by then I'm in the same mindset, then I guess I'll accept it, and realise that it's time to move on....then they'll be a bumper sale of stuff on here!
...or like the OP, pick up a uke!
This is good, very good. Why not bass and uke? No reason but it's what gives me the desire to pick up an instrument. Maybe the bass will come back? U-Bass? No thank you, that's missing the point for me.

I need to edit out the potential sales stuff from here guys. I'll create some sales posts. One last time ?
