1. Following on from my decision to retire from gigging and pursuing that road to glory and having sold or virtually sold my main amp and cab the pedals that I don't really need while noodling in my shed come next.

All are completely mint, well looked after and have only seen a few band practices, no gigs (there in lies a story).

First is a pedal that comes up more in the wanted ads than the sale ones. This one tiny unit has done more for my bass projecting into the mix than anything. It basically filters out the sub 30 Hz stuff and gives you headroom, eases the stress on drivers, stops amps clipping and gives added sex appeal.

[sfx] Micro Thumpinator. Mint, £80 - SOLD

Next is the Modulator Multi effects pedal to knock all others into a pink torpedoed hat. A Strymon Mobius, mint, boxed and with an added ring bound manual that I had made at some cost as online manuals just don't do it for me. Beautifully crafted tones, wonderful quality kit. I bought the Ola chorus and just had to have this.

Strymon Mobius. Mint, boxed and with a proper manual £295 SOLD

Next up is my EHX Freeze. This pedal gives a drone that you play and can then play over. A bit like bagpipes? Great for creative baselines and practice.

EHX Freeze, Mint, boxed £80- SOLD

Next my Keeley Bassist compressor. A small format specialist bass unit that gets good reviews. It's a compressor, it compresses and I set and ignore generally.

Keeley Bassist, Mint, boxed £140 SOLD

Finally my COG Multi FX unit. I bought this from Mike (Sk8) who had it custom made and I'm going to link in to his previous ad.

  2. Having happily made the break and having almost certainly sold my gigging cab I have no use for my MarkBass LMII. It is in truly excellent condition and has spent most of it's life in it's vented bag as it's pretty mint. Italian made and comes with kettle lead and manual. I'll also throw in a high spec Speakon/jack lead. I've used several amps and came back to the LMII as they are so bloody good.

Tomorrow I'll get my Strymon Mobius and my Cog x3 pedal up for sale too.

Postage £15, inspection and collection from Kendal would be good also.

Amazing cab, perfect gentleman in Peter to deal with - I'm surprised this doesn't say 'Sold' already!

Cheers Nik, I'm a little surprised that there hasn't been more interest in what is I feel the best cab that may can buy and almost made of unobtainium too :)

    Price negotiable of course.

  4. I've got a GMR. The builder moved to London from Eastern Europe, Romania if I remember correctly. He brought his business over with him and I think that he moved back. I don't know why.

That price is insanely low in my opinion. Give away almost.

Fantastic cabs. I have a tinge of regret getting rid of mine but this is truly the pinnacle of 212 cabs. If you want the ability to replicate the exact sound your bass or effects are putting out then this is the cab for you.

    Cheers Mike, pm'd you.

These are fantastic cabs and super-rare. Right up there with the best, if not THE best. Even if you weren't thinking about buying a cab, or imagined that your cab search was finally over, you should get in and buy this immediately. Don't even think about it, you are unlikely to get another chance at one of these, at least not for a very long time!

Needless to say if I had spare folding I'd be in the car heading north, right now!

Thank you, a kind and honest appraisal. I should add that there is some very slight discolouring where the handle slots are on the cover. A rarely noticeable cosmetic thing. We have some sun, even in Kendal...

  7. I've made a tough decision. It's been several years since I've gigged and my last band venture fizzled out nearly a year ago. I've kept my gear for some time but I've finally decided that I'm comfortable with moving on. I'll keep a few basses and my TC Combo but the serious stuff isn't getting used. I still enjoy noodling but that's it.

    If Carlsberg made bass cabs.....

Dave Perry, a good friend, made 10 of these cabs. I find Dave to be a remarkable man who is never happy with 2nd best. A perfectionist who never says 'that'll do'. On Dave's own admission it cost too much to make these cabs to his very high standard to make them tenable as a business proposition.

Mine is immaculate and has only seen light use. It's never been abused or dropped, no-one has ever danced on it although it they did you wouldn't know such is the build quality and finish. It comes with a Roqsolid cover.

    Here are the specs:

    http://www.extendedaudiodesign.co.uk

How does it sound? Focussed, tight, articulate and powerful. As you can see there are attenuators for the mid driver and the tweeter. It has a 'proper' custom crossover. It's not super light but at 57lbs this 11 stone weakling finds it an easy one man carry.

The finish is also used to coat horse ramps! To say it is tough is an understatement.

I'm not prepared to ship having has a cab severely damaged by a courier but I am okay with travelling some miles down the M6 from home in Kendal where viewing is welcome.

More gear to be added (LM 500 Tube, Strymon Mobius and Cog 3x fx etc).

I do know that Scoop was looking for one to match his existing cab but he is sorted now.

This. I drop the treble a tiny bit as I'm not keen on the string noise. With a Micro Thumpinator you can boost the bass without introducing mud. I like low mids but find it can be overdone.
