  1. This looks absolutely stunning. My Cort/Elrick NSJ5 has seriously made me appreciate Cort basses. Such a lot of bass for the money. GLWTS.
  2. I’ve had a rethink over the price. Reduced to £800. A seriously sorted bass. Offers or trade suggestions welcome, not necessarily bass. Here's is my MTD Lynn Keller Kingston 5 string. It has several upgrades. The bass has a 32" scale with a zero fret. 16.5mm string spacing and an asymmetric neck. It is lightweight at 8lb. It has Newtone Platinum strings fitted with little use on them. The bass cavities have been shielded with copper tape. A US Bartolini HR-5.3AP/918 3EQ preamp has been fitted. The bass has Volume(Active/Passive)/Volume/Bass/Middle/Treble with a 'High Middle Low' mid 3 way selector. There is an added 9v battery in the main cavity giving 18v total supply. It also has an upgraded Switchcraft jack. The original pickups had a very low output that seriously compromised the bass. They are also an unusual size. I had Mike Walsh of Zoot Bass remanufacture the pickups in the original cases and the result is stunning. Mike may be best known for making fine basses but his own pickups benefit from his depth of knowledge and attention to detail. The pickups now have a solid output comparable to vintage Fender pickups. Finally, the bass has US Ultralite Hipshot tuners, better quality black coated brass knobs and Dunlop strap locks. In excellent condition with no discernible wear orchids/damage, as can be seen from the photos. It will come with a good quality gig bag and I will ship at cost. It is a tone monster Inspection and trying the bass out is welcome. I can take more photos at a higher quality. I have the original Bartolini pre-amp (Chinese version?), tuners, jack socket, strap buttons and knobs that I will include in the sale. This is a great bass for those who favour a shorter scale and still want an effective 5 string bass. The zero fret, asymmetric neck and light weight make it a pleasure to play. It also has the Buzz Feiten tuning system. Peter
  3. This bass looks lovely. I know Alan's work well and it pushes all my buttons except the finances one.
  4. Thank you Dave, I've returned it. Peter
  5. I received a 2nd hand Backbeat G1 today. On trying it out on an active 5 string bass I can't feel anything from the D and G strings and little from the A string. Both the unit's and bass volume are wide open. Am I expecting too much or is it defective do you think? Thanks in anticipation. Peter
  6. Excellent thing. I’ve had mine for many years. Playing with mp3s changing speed and key. Awesome. GLWTS
  7. And I've been sitting thinking of selling it for a few months too.
  8. Hello all I'm selling my Nano Bass Big Muff. Totally mint except for velcro on rear. Box and manual included. Never been used in anger. It didn't do what I was looking for. A Creation Audio Labs Grizzly did!
  9. That looks lovely Paul. Peter
  10. I do wish you would have thought to pm me before posting, contradicting me As I’ve already stated, this is the Epiphone version. The Gibson version is readily available. It was purchased to upgrade my Jack Casady that is now sold due to my requirements changing. I originally ordered one through Bass Direct but months passed with no indication of availability. After a delay I discovered that Thomann sold the Epi version. It still took many months to come into stock. Peter
  11. If anyone knows about these bridges they'll know how hard they are to get a hold of. I waited many months for Thomann to get them in stock and I recently paid £183 for it. Now dropped to £120 Selling because the bass it was intended for (Epiphone Jack Casady, although it will fit other Epi basses) is also up for sale. Unopened and the price includes UK delivery.
  12. I've not long paid £53 plus £2 delivery for these from Bass Direct. I'm selling the bass they were intended for. £45 including free UK delivery.

  13. My MTD Kingston LK arrived today and 4 basses is one too many. Reduced to £470. I haven't advertised the Babitz bridge or the TI Jazz JF344's separately as I'd rather wait until the bass sells. Both are available at 2/3 price if bought with the bass they were intended for. Peter
  14. 8.04lbs - digital fishing scales.
  15. This lovely Jack Casady was a vanity project. I've always loved them and I did own a gold one a few years back. Bought new and fitted with Dunlop flats. As per usual there is a slight neck heavy attitude so the bass has been fitted with black Hipshot Ultralite tuners. This does leave the original tuner holes visible and the sale includes the original tuners. The bass is in mint condition, unmarked and has hardly been played. I waited many months for a Babitz EPi bridge (black) to come in stock and I've just paid £183 for one from Thomann (it's for sale separately although can include with bass for a good price). I've also just bought a set of TI J344 strings that are unopened and will be for sale separately, again a 'special' price if you would like them included with the bass. I've fitted a strap button to the top horn into an epoxy base. This helps with balance and has a Warwick fitting - strap lock included. Why am I selling? The band and our tuning needs mean returning to 5 string is desired and I've ordered an MTD Kingston LK from BD. Any questions don't hesitate. No trades please.
  16. You have all the good stuff for sale.........
  17. Now £140 with free UK delivery. A lovely amp at a great price. This fully functioning amp in good condition isn't getting used. I used it for practice in my tiny 'bass space' only with an Accugroove cab and it was overkill. I now have a Peavey 250 watt Combo (still overkill ). Comes with the overdrive pedal (an extra not supplied with amp when new) and a lead. Has headphone out and Aux in. Fender Rumble 200 Head (V3) Features: Amplifier Type: Class-D Controls: Gain, Bright On/Off, Contour On/Off, Vintage On/Off, Drive, Overdrive On/Off, Level, Bass, Low-Mid, High-Mid, Treble, Master Volume Wattage: 200 Watts Effects Loop: 1/4" - (Send/Return) Inputs: One - 1/4" Auxiliary Input: 1/8" Stereo Headphone Jack: 1/8" Stereo Line Out: One - (XLR with Ground Lift) Channels: One - (with Selectable Bright Switch, Contour, Vintage Switch and Overdrive) Pilot Light Jewel: Red LED Handle: Moulded Plastic Strap with Nickel-Plated Caps Front Panel: Painted Metal Speaker outputs: Two - 1/4" - minimum 4 ohm load Unique Features: -Soft-touch radio knobs -Foot-switchable overdrive circuit and 3-button voicing palette -Extremely lightweight FootSwitch: Optional 1-Button Footswitch (not included) Knobs: Ivory Soft Touch Radio Knobs
  18. To my way of thinking there is a lot of myth and hype around pickups. Wire, magnets and a case. No magic. Most good.
  19. Here is a photo of it in action, 2013 Moffat Bass Bash...
  20. I didn’t have it custom made, at least from memory. I may have bought it new though. I had a break away from bass (mainly band related) and now play 4 string only. It didn’t come with single coils if memory serves correctly (age takes its toll). I bought the single coils as the originals sounded a little compressed to my ears.
  21. I'm just curious as to what pickups are in the bass now. I bought a set of single coils from Alan and tried them out. I sold the bass with the originals as well. Peter Edited to add, I see it has the single coils in.
  22. Ian and I had a great transaction. He sold me a Grizzly O/D pedal. Excellent communication. I'm a very happy man. Thank you Ian
