I have Big Singles in my Ibanez SR900 and they made a noticeable difference and sound very nice.

Yes they are, I was astonished at the quality of the music reproduction compared to my Bluetooth ear buds that I considered to be pretty good. I opened the box while watching TV and just stuck them in my ears without doing anything else and the tv sound just disappeared. I also couldn’t hear my wife speaking while sat next to me. Very impressive. 🙂

My daughter just bought me a pair of these Airpods Pro 2 as a pre Christmas prezzy. They are worlds away better than the ear pod things that came with the iPhones back in the day. I could never keep them in my ears and have several unused pairs in a desk draw as result. The sound quality of these is really excellent and the noise reduction is stunning. Just saying in case anyone is thinking of putting them on a secret santa list.

The Fine tuner on the stomp is pretty good, I’m not convinced it’s better than the TU3. I haven’t tried the Strobe mode.

Thanks for the good wishes. I’ve had all the take it easy stuff from the cardiac nurses at Brighton, as well as the surgeon. And my wife polices me incessantly so I am doing my best to behave. I suspect that will be even more intense after the surgery and I’m actually looking forward to a relaxing build up to Christmas. Although I suspect I will get very bored.

I did the gig last night as a duo that I had thought we would have to cancel due to my impending surgery, but that has changed to next week. So a nice bar down by the sea we’ve played before. Good crowd singing along which is always encouraging, proves we picked a good set. I got to drive the HX Stomp live, recently bought from @maidens97 of this parish. It works a treat, makes me play a lot better. Well probably only in my head so thanks again. My wife acted as my roady as I’m not supposed to lift anything over the weight of a bag sugar. Ridiculous as I spent the two and half hour gig, without a break, with a 10 pound Stingray round my neck. Anyway a member of the bar staff helped her load out and even insisted on loading up the car, under my supervision. Nice people. Next gig is mid November when I should have recovered

10 Famous Shed Felters That a Bass Player Could Name
Cliff Edge replied to Frank Blank's topic in General Discussion
My son Cliff Jnr. has just felted the shed he recently built. He did also build the shed base, does that count? -
Tried listening to Adele today.........

She can sing. A rare talent in the pop music world. -
They publicise it so they must think it’s worth doing.

If they do take them in to the US for QC declared as temporary import for export only, as long as no work is done which would increase value, then there should be no US applied import taxes. That’s how it works in the UK anyway, I don’t imagine it would be any different over there as it would just be a waste of money.

Back in the dark ages we had to continually stop and start records in order to get lyrics. I had a singer who would just listen once or twice and then sing what he thought he heard and swear blind it was correct. His versions of Me and Bobby McGee and Gentle on My Mind, which I have recordings of, are a wonderful comedy of errors.

Purchased an HX Stomp from maidens97 and I’m very happy with it. Excellent communication and swift despatch.

They’ve given themselves the best part of a year to practice.

Pub gigs in the 90’s and setting up was always accompanied by Oasis whining away on the jukebox. Some of their tunes are quite nice, performed by other people.

Ah monthly limit, yes, I had forgotten about that. To be honest it will be very difficult to to do any kind of bulk email from a personal ISP account. I regularly had clients who used BT Internet complain about their email accounts not working when BT’s IP addresses were all over the black lists because of spammers using their systems.
-
Many if not all ISP’s will restrict the number of emails that can be sent from a single account in one sending. Often none of the emails will be sent if you go over the limit. For obvious anti spammer reasons. And that will also apply to whoever you use for emails from a hosted domain name. To get around that some of my clients used Mailchimp in the past, but that is not cheap. And most of the options I see these days are similarly priced. The way round this is find out what the maximum is for your ISP and split the sendings to just under that number over several days. Not ideal but free. I’m not in the industry any more and some things and options may have changed.

Yet another band name suggestion thread
Cliff Edge replied to Leonard Smalls's topic in General Discussion
Probably because I have nothing else to do at the moment, this made me look up The Sir Douglas Quintet wiki page which contains a link to The Oh So Good Band. US based and possibly defunct anyway but a pretty good band name. -
Very soon after I started playing bass, still in school, I joined a rock ‘n roll band called Porridge and the Hubcaps. Well why not? We got a good few gigs before we lost one of the hubcaps.

I’ll ask the wife if she can hear it, she has bat ears.

Having seen this thread brought back from slumber I brought mine out of the cupboard and put it through it’s paces. The enhance knob does make a difference but I keep it off. I had forgotten how good this pedal is, and it’s very quiet, no hiss. I never used it with a Stingray before but it sounds pretty good. I’ll keep it on the board in place of the Ampeg OptoComp, which I really like, for the next gig and see how it goes.

All the bands I’ve ever been in, no one person actually owned it or the name. I owned the domain names of one of the more recent bands. When I left I kept renewing them until fairly recently. The band carried on until it naturally dissolved. The website had long gone by then.
