  1. I used to tie a black tattered rag thing round my wrist for the more Gothic version
  2. I don't think you'll have too much bother sussing it out !
  3. Woah there !... Autotune at all ? !!! 😁
  4. Something to do with Dennis Brown weren't they ? Great stuff anyway 👍
  5. Btw.. you MUST do Neat Neat Neat by the Damned ok ?
  6. To be authentic you want one of those plywood Hondo Rick copies, trouble is even they seem to go for stupid money now ! You can't go far wrong with a P bass tho.
  7. He can bung a few safety pins in his suit jacket and he's good to go tho..
  8. Sounds like a really nice set up you've got there.. Your suit idea sound good, but whatever you do .. Take the Rickenbacker OK !.. 👍
  9. I was wondering what the others did.. You'd look a bit of a mug turning up in a party shop "punk" cossie if the rest of the band didn't ..you could always do the customary leather biker jackets, can't go far wrong there...
  10. Indeed!...tbh for the band you just probably want to look kinda like Mr and Mrs J. Public's idea of a "punk" it's not like you're making an authentic film set in 1977 ! There's millions of "punk" pics on 'tinternet to crib ideas from.. Please post a pic of your own "punk persona" though..!
  11. These were the kind of original punks from 76- early 77 when the Roxy was going..
  12. Originally the whole point was to make your own unique stuff.. Ps if you want to do the full monty, stick a couple of safety pins thru your face eh !
  13. Seriously? That's got to be the most pathetic thing I've ever heard....
  14. The silver front ones take me right back to rehearsal studios in Leytonstone circa '78 The HH stuff had cool green "lighty up" bits...
  15. That's the thing about the drum machine, provided you ask it nicely it'll do what it's told ( in theory)
  16. Her swearing was in fact legendary, it's all her fault I use such bad language to this day...
  17. Absolutely fine, plus it was a bit of interest having a girl looking cool and operating a bit of eleccy stuff too...
  18. Drum machine definitely ( or the recorded drums, but get an old Revox to play em on eh ) Some outfit I was involved in had a drummer that was a proper pain for availability, so my girlfriend of the time suggested, "when old d!ckhead can't turn up, I'll just operate the drum machine" Worked very well and sent the message that drum bloke wasn't indispensable
  19. The types that used to charge a quid for tourists to take a photo of them hanging around down the King's Rd etc !
  20. I cheated and went straight to the dub ! I'll pop back later and catch up ^
  21. I certainly don't recall ever seeing a mohican hair do at the Roxy for instance, they were more the "clone" types that came later and usually had virtually identical biker jackets with the back painted up and one arm studded (plus the tartan) etc etc. I remember from somewhere that apparently the "mohican" hair style that we associate, was in fact a "war" thing, and not a general everyday tribal hairstyle.
  22. I'd just fiddle around to get some interesting bass sounds I liked... And make up some bass lines ! I've had a few old keyboard things and have done just this (even in a band context a few times).. and I can't play the piano at all really, worked for me and is great fun, you'll come up with totally different bass parts than you would on a bass guitar too.
