  1. Just for our very own Doctor in Dubwise..!
  2. Maybe try "ten pahnd" as opposed to "ten grand"..
  3. Yes well some people don't "hard sell" i think he's just a guy who makes them !.. I have a set and think they're a decent PU, but Seymour Dunc. are very much a "known quantity" and if they're about the same price as Hooky says, you can't go far wrong grabbing a set of SD, they'll certainly be an improvement on the ones supplied in your bass I'd think !
  4. Sound City were pretty common back then, I remember them well !.... didn't they do a fair bit of PA stuff too ? Not seen any of their stuff around for years so maybe not that common on the market now. H+H was another brand that was everywhere back then.

So if you've been paid back, who technically owns the bass now, the insurance co presumably ?
  6. Not heard "Determinism" bandied about for years I used to like a bit 'o Schopenhauer me...
  7. I just looked back at stuff I've bought to check, and I got the zero fret direct from Tonetech luthier supplies, give them a bell or an email, they were very quick and efficient to deal with as I recall. They'll certainly be able to advise and supply ( it was about 8 quid I think)
  8. You can certainly get flat non radius zero frets, I looked at all this a couple of months back, have a look on ebay there's a few sellers and both types are available for sure.
  9. Yep, I wish I'd kept the Hondo P bass, certainly they're a hefty lump but that doesn't bother me tbh ...I think I got about the usual 50 quid for it when having stupidly ill advised "clear out"
  10. That's a cool little bass you got there, not bad for the money inc a hard case ... Maida Vale PUs are another good one to consider, it's a guy from the UK who makes and sells them on ebay, they're only about £30
  11. Bit of bribery always works..
  12. Well if i miraculously become a multi millionaire, I'll give you a bell and we'll shoot over there and try some tunes..!
  13. Would've thought a pair of wire side cutters..
  14. That'd be the one in Kingston then, rather than the one of the same name in Warrington Cheshire !
  15. They have some nice gear in that studio, check that rack full of saxophones too....
  16. Or tied up in a shipping container bound for......?
  17. Guess it's all a bit of pot luck then, very much try, and close examination, before you buy
  18. The 3 Ricks I had were all 70s 4001s and the necks were fine with no issues.. So maybe it's a later production, later models thing ?
  19. Top man 👍 many thanks for all the info, hopefully I'll make some sense of it all
  20. I just ordered the Beringer doodah you recommended ( or rather got one of my associates with amazon to! ) so hopefully should have that tomorrow, allegedly.
  21. I imagine it could have great fun potential ! There you go Prof.. Another good reason to grab yourself a Rick 👍
  22. The rick-o-sound plug hole always amused me too.. Not that I ever once used it on any of the Ricks I had....never had 2 amps at one time...
