  1. Funnily enuff father, i know its a 32 bitsa coz i found out previous, like..
  2. Im sure it'd do for my purposes, I'm not spending 140 quid for sure !! As for the computer It's a cheapo s/h laptop with windows 10 ( not sure if it's a "snide" version!) It doesn't get used for much unsurprisingly, so not filled to capacity I wouldn't think
  3. Would you say the behringer thing is a significantly better way than just going into the laptop via leads ?
  4. I've got one of the jam man ones, the basic old version, you can play a sequence, phrase, etc doing a bit of rather awkward foot tapping on the pedals to start and stop "recording" your riff or whatever.. You can then play over it, and record more layers if desired. I've just used it very occasionally, more just to try ideas out over a basic sequence/pattern type of thing, tho folk do some very impressive stuff with them.. There's lots of YouTube vids going into these in depth.
  5. Well not too tragic if you can't find it & I've got to buy one for 18 quid + change, as opposed to well over a 100 for the other thing !
  6. Blimey sport, you're a handsome geezer and no mistake ! 👍
  7. Thanks so much for that 👍 I'll see if the gizmo for the machine is available ( priced sensibly) my default option was as you say, input thru leads into mic socket, tho shame its only mono, it'd be nice to do a version in stereo for what i have in mind, but what works Is what it Is..! The parts of the track aren't mixed down to stereo at the mo, so a straight output as it stands would be mono anyway, with me riding the faders ! I just now signed up to soundcloud on the laptop ( i think it worked) so hopefully have that ticked off the list ! ps The behringer thing would just get the signal from the zoom straight onto the laptop then would it ? Or would that do something else..? Apologies btw, as I'm sure this is like talking to a little kid ! Pps.. I just checked out the zoom interface thing 130 to 140 quid basically, so that's not happening !!
  8. The zoom is pretty old now so doubt there's much new stuff available for it specifically, but I'll have a look! I'd stick with doing stuff on it (rather than fight a computer) as i can just about work it in a very simplistic fashion. I pretty much gave up trying to create music as I've lots of ideas but i just can't do the computer malarkey.. I really needed to team up with a computer literate type who could do that side of it, hey ho!
  9. Okey Doke Dad.... It's a Mrs 1044 multitrack thingy.. The only outputs are R and L phono plugs and a headphone socket ( big guitar size jack ) there is no usb or owt like that, so i assume to conn to a laptop you'd plug it into the mic socket on the laptop via a lead from either the hadphone out or the phono sockets with suitable converter leads.. Also what (free) version of soundcloud would i need ? 👍
  10. Cool, I'll give that a go.. 👍
  11. So i need to download soundcloud on to the laptop then ? I flicked thru the guide but it's really about making music on a computer, I'm really only wanting to transfer "finished" stuff off the zoom recorder onto computer so it could be shared, sent, whatever.
  12. Thanks for that, I'll have a look, hopefully I might be able to bodge something, though I'm not trying to do anything directly onto a computer, I'm simply wanting to transfer stuff from the zoom recorder thing, I'm assuming once you get it off there onto a laptop you can upload it wherever, whatever !

Apologies I didn't see the refund bit ! You've not lost on it anyway that's the main thing. Clearly that bass really wasn't meant for you... I guess someone will end up using it at some point tho... I wonder if "the bitter comes out better on a stolen guitar " works for bass too !
  14. I do odd stuff on an old zoom multitrack recorder occasionally but have no clue how you'd upload it ? Would you first do a copy onto a laptop or something ? Not got a scooby ! I don't really do computers I'm kind of dislexic with them and really don't understand 'em ( or even want to tbh) ..hence I've never done computer based music / recording myself.
  15. Woah... Cute li'l dog and an accordion... Gold mine..
  16. 'Ere Paul... Someones drilled a load of 'oles in it..
  17. We did a free gig for the Spanish Anarchists ( bless 'em) once.. and I ended up nicking a proper Fez from someone, with Arabic writing inside and everything.. Result
  18. You've done this before haven't you..
  19. Regrettably tho, they're unlikely to give a monkey's !
  20. And get some 'hefty' lookin' mates to circulate tru the audience rattling collection tins....
  21. It has always been the case, playing music is perceived to be "fun" ( which it is of course) and consequently they balk at the idea of paying you for it..."why pay when they'll do it for nothing" is kind of institutionalised thinking
  22. Give her a chance.. It's only mid day, she'll still be crashed out if it was a good one..
  23. Don't know if it's of interest to anyone else, but I found this a very good read, Jon King retrospectively runs through, track by track, the process behind the recording of the album Entertainment by Gang of Four... https://www.clashmusic.com/features/gang-of-four-track-by-track
  24. I've often fancied getting one of those melodica things myself, must have a squint on ebay !
