  1. Handy to know of a "agent" who will accept something like a bass under their own insurance, not heard of SMB before
  2. You're tempting me with those ferrets again..
  3. I see there's another Thomann dodgy returns thread going. To update this one for reference.. I also received the "we've got your return and will be processed.." email a couple of days ago. So at least it's back with them, I'll give them a prod next week if I've not seen a refund going in soon.
  4. Bad show indeed.. I'd push the PayPal route, just email them copies of all the Thomann messages and correspondence. You might be able to contact dhl for clarity too. If necessary you might need to report it to the police as theft, I'd tell Thomann and particularly dhl that you're intending this as well. You've done your bit and other than the pick up itself you have a virtual paper trail of the whole thing. When my return was collected it was the same guy who delivered it and I recognised him from previous delivs and chatted to him, he's the local dhl driver so didn't have any concerns there. As regards mine, I had an email from Thomann a couple of days ago saying they'd received it back and it's being processed. If I don't hear in a few more days I'll give them a prod as regards refund. Your case is very concerning of course and I think you'll have to be fairly pro active in chasing all concerned. I do wish you luck with it
  5. I suppose using hindsight we might change all sorts of things in our past, but that'd throw us into a completely different time-line and who knows what we'd be doing now (or even dead ๐Ÿ˜ฑ) .. There's probably loads of insignificant things in life I might change.. a few stupid injuries I could have avoided for a start. I music, I perhaps should've made a better effort to keep one or two things going that had good potential.. Unlike a few here that have cited the reverse, I'd perhaps have gone more into guitar too.
  6. He's hiding from you I expect ๐Ÿ˜
  7. The last bass I posted (fairly recently) I did just this.. Took the neck off and packaged it all up very securely, I always go belt and braces with packing. I declared it as "luthier component parts" which technically it was (particularly as there was a bag of "bits" in there too) to have a fighting chance if it went sideways and I had to claim. Obvious if its a complete "guitar" they automatically wriggle out as we know. It went Parcelforce 48 collected from me, tho the collection time was cutting it a bit fine as it was finally picked up abut 6.30 pm and I was wondering if they'd turn up at all. It arrived with the recipient fine with no issues luckily anyway. BTW.. I booked it online directly with RM Parcelforce
  8. I'd say about 75% of the bands and musical projects I've been involved with over the years have had female singers, everyone just got on with it, there wasn't any "over analysing" of anything. Anyone who is going to be in bands and perform in public at all will have to have a particular type of mind-set anyway, irrespective of whether they're blokes or girls.
  9. A veritable giveaway compared to your last effort ๐Ÿ˜‚
  10. Well we'd probably have to be "trailer trash" ๐Ÿ˜.. though I believe at one point in some parts of Leeds you could buy houses for literally a few grand.
  11. You like old basses Sport?... Not that much Sport.. I'll have a Squier for 300 nicker and buy a small house somewhere with the change ๐Ÿ˜...
  12. You'll have to ask @snorkie635 I'm sure I've seen him with a cowboy hat on...
  13. Nah, it was pretty standard parlance really ๐Ÿ˜
  14. Nothing even remotely ยฃ achievable, fantasy list rather than shopping list.. A nice old 4001 bass is the only thing really.
  15. No, I'm virtually certain it was Shelley as the front man when I saw them, tho I'd likely "partaken" of various substances at the time..
  16. "ยขock" was certainly a popular term of friendly address "all right me old ยขock"... the sort of thing my old grandad would have said ๐Ÿ˜
  17. I seem to recall a buzzcock being a colloquial name for some bird in the US, wouldn't think a Manchester punk band would've been named after one of those tho. Useless fact... I saw the Buzzcocks at the Vortex ( punk venue off Oxford st. London ) in 1977
  18. Brilliant!.. You certainly deserve a run of good fortune ๐Ÿ‘
  19. If you've got the neck off with a couple of screw shanks sticking out, pliers or smallish mole grips will certainly grip sufficiently to unscrew them. Don't think you'd need to go high tech on it ๐Ÿ˜
