As regards making one.. It's not too bad especially if you've got a small angle grinder and a decent ish drill.. I made one from a bit of galv plate from a joist hanger once ..

Make one from a piece of 3mm plate or something ?

Mart had a jazz bass neck from me, first class transaction with good comms, turned up spot on time, 100% reliable and a great guy to deal with. Shame I was working on site as it would've been nice to have chatted for longer, but great to meet up anyway ! 👍 Many thanks..

Anyway, bought a brilliant FX pedal from Paul, which is very useful & I've been delighted with.... due to his location it was easy to just pop round and pick it up, great to meet Paul (and his pooch of course! ) ...A Top Bloke all round.. Firstly, sorry for the delay in doing feedback, I've only just become aware of it and am sorting it for all the guys I've dealt with ! Bought a bass from Gerry, it arrived promptly, via a very efficient courier service, and was packed in possibly the best "bomb proof" fashion I've yet seen ! Sorry for rather delayed feedback, I wasn't sure how it worked..! Anyhow, I bought the MM Stingray pick up, which was sent out promptly and arrived very rapidly....Daniel also did a very neat bit of soldering on the PU for me after some discussion in priv. messaging. Top guy to deal with in all respects. 👍

Ps, I'd never advocate your buying a new one... If it were me I'd be looking at s/h used

I've generally dropped 'em low as poss and not cared about buzz really, but I have been described as a "Hooligan Player" so best don't do as I do !

It's easier than fighting, just make a really horrible noise and the enemy will go "we're not ferkin' listening to this.." and leave the scene promptly.. You could say it's a form of "sonic weapon". dunno what the Geneva Convention would have to say about it mind you...

I dodged a bullet with it at school tho, in the "music" lesson, which was run by the most unpleasant old bastard you could imagine, everyone at term's start had to stand up individually and sing, those who "could sing" were immediately drafted with no choice of refusal into a "choir"... I didn't even need to pretend, after about two squwarky noises from me it was.. " Stop..!"

I always laugh when I hear this.. I for one cannot sing, at all, end of ..
