From what I can see it's 18 hours worth already.. I wasn't kidding about needing a couple of days then ! 👍

I've ordered mine from ebay, the price varies a lot for a 20g pot... this was about 11 quid and change, I've seen the same bottle for about 20 notes+, so worth checking price.. It's not arrived yet so not tried it, but loctite is a pukka brand so should be ok !

Further to Tegs post with the vid, the guy there is using super glue as a "filler" and a colour fluid underneath... I discovered (and ordered) some stuff called Loctite 480 it's a black "self coloured" super glue which is obviously black all the way through rather than clear with a tint beneath. It's only good for black basses ( or guitars) of course. I wanted it to fill some chips on the back of a black paint finished neck. Just thought I'd mention it in case it's of use to anyone else.

Sorry if I'm a bit dim but how do i find that ?

Trouble is when i look at this thread there's usually so much stuff to check out.. I'm really going to have to find a whole day and just listen from the beginning.. ( maybe 2 days ! )

Songs that are bangers... that aren't sung in English
Waddo Soqable replied to EBS_freak's topic in General Discussion
We did a minimalist cover of this decades ago with just me on double bass and a mate singing, wish we'd recorded it as he did a bang up job of the vocals, especially as he didn't actually speak French... -

Is British rock and metal now a cottage industry?

None of your aluminium alloys, they were right out.....

I've always liked that bit that kicks off the beginning of "Love like Blood" by Killing Joke..

When he goes out for a slash, swap his good batteries for some old dead ones you've brought for that very purpose....

Tbh I think your price is fair and about right 👍...there's some really stupidly priced stuff out there , and it's easy to get carried away with what people are asking on ebay, bearing in mind much of it will never sell for the money they're wanting ! I remember at the time these came out, some people were very disparaging and spouted all sorts of rubbish about how an aluminium neck was no good, blah blah, they were a "love it or hate it" thing certainly !... I thought they were great, and it's good to see one again, hopefully someone will grab it and give it a good home !

I've never been a "metal player" but I have played in a couple of "metal" bands, essentially just filling in on a temporary basis for live gigs rather than as a proper member....one was a straight forward 80s style metal thing, the other and slightly more interesting was a kind of "industrial metal" outfit that used a lot of laptop backing and 'noises' as well as the usual Gtr, Bass, Drums.. Amusingly in the first one was told... "don't worry about what you play too much, no-one listens to the bass in metal " and was warned off doing much else but root note "plod" The other thing was a bit more dense and complex, with all the laptop synthy malarkey in the background....with this mob, myself and a guitarist ( who was also just a temp ) were given a CD each and left to get on with it, we had to suss out the whole set with no additional information ( it was quite down tuned too) we met up a couple of times to compare notes and agree on the awkward bits ! ...I think we had a couple of weeks to get it sorted, which we did to an acceptable level anyway ! In the event I was obliged to 'break in' another guitarist subsequently as the first guy only did a couple of the gigs and ducked out, hey ho Gear used in my "metal experiences" was as follows ...Rickenbacker 4001... Hohner Jack headless bass.... Hartke 3500 amp ( which I think are a total piece of $hit btw! ) and a couple of random 15" cabs, with metal speakers ( appropriately enough! ) can't remember exactly what they were now. ....There FWIW my brief foray into "Metal"..

Pah... Now, if he'd juggled with three or four housebricks...

£1800 ?.. Knock a zero off that and it's about right..

Blimey.... are you a magician's beautiful assistant then..?

They probably thought anyone who could actually play a fretless would be unlikely to buy a Hondo ll ... I also had one of those Hondo black P basses with the very very thick neck, I actually quite liked it

I thought similar.. Maybe 'Encores' were brilliant and we're only just realising it......

Is now good time to be buying 'quality' musical instruments
Waddo Soqable replied to TJ1's topic in General Discussion
Yes well i think the secret with most "issues" is to speak personally, face to face, or at least on the phone..... As always though, "buyer beware" ! They've done my refund now too I'm glad to say -
