I'm not sure about 'sing' to be honest - here's him and his better half crucifying a classic.......
Sheesh!... Inspired by old Michael Bubble no doubt....

We!l done, it was bugging me who it was !... I bet those guys did most of the "heavy lifting" on the track too, I'm sure I've heard Trevor Nelson talking about it somewhere...

Heard almost exactly the same as you re the SUB. You can let us have a comparison please. Always a concern using a courier. BD should be fine though, great shop and good experienced people.
Good to know BD have a decent rep. as a seller anyway, I've heard of them, but not ever bought from them before. Would have been nice to have had a confo email from them by now tho ( maybe they do it by hand, not automated )
It's a very long time since I had a proper Stingray so comparison will be tinged with memory clouds !

A phrase I still use. As I'd rather not have any time wasters. It informs people you won't be too tolerant of tyre kicking.
Unfortunately time wasters don't see themselves like that, and rock up anyway....

I remember “no time wasters” being a regular one too. Can’t imagine too many people identifying themselves with that😃!
I've even seen "No W@nkers"... obviously I didn't reply to that one..

I'm new to them (still defer to my BB1100s as my "go to") but really like the feel and the low end. Not played a SUB but as you said...... people pay them a lot of respect and even question the diffeerences. Looks a good purchase...
Supposedly they were made in the Stingray plant, by the same people, with pretty much the same parts, but an "economy" finish, is the way I've heard it.
This one in the pics looks good, hopefully it'll arrive without being wrecked en route, (or arrive at all !.)... I recently ordered something from GAK which seemed to vanish in DHL system, I ended up with a refund but makes you a bit wary of stuff being shipped via "courier"..
-
Not entirely relevant but I always thought it a "ban worthy" phrase... If anyone remembers the old musicians wanted ads in the Melody Maker, a popular ( and absurd) one was "No Breadheads" ! I cringe even now..

Just on it now, looks in great condition, quite like the white pickguard as well........ looks a great purchase, hope you enjoy it........
I've had a real stingray back in the day, (in fact 2 but passed one on fairly quickly) so kind of know what they're like, these sub versions seem to have a good rep when I've heard them talked about anyway.

Yes, as far as I know they were made in the same factory in San Luis Obispo, CA.
I am still looking for a 2 band EQ Stingray but in natural, otherwise I would have already clicked the "add to cart" button 😉
I've actually done just that !!! So it's all your fault 👍

BD has a USA Sub for £650 (BTW, this is not my bass and I don't know the original owner either). These were the no-frills US made Stingrays, which should not to be confused with the Sterling by MM Sub basses made in Indonesia and China. The US Sub had 2 band EQ, painted necks, limited choice of colours and no body contouring (i.e., slab body). Check it out:
Yes I remember these, they were made in the same plant as the stingrays I believe..

I'm fairly certain on the tune Chant no1, don't need this pressure on... the "Spands" were more than a little "assisted" on the recording by well known black funk type outfit of the day ( who's name escapes me unfortunately)

I’m still confused about it tbh. I’m in closed groups… you can view but can’t participate until you ask to join. I’m not on them as “Trueno”… just another made up name.
Edit… as everyone probably knows, my real name is Tancred Trueno III.
I guess you gots to know the right groups to be in ! ... I might dig out an old unused email add, make up an even more daft name, and give it a try , I assume there's bass players groups and individual instrument brand "fan" groups... It's sounding like a proper pain in the ar$e already..!

Unfortunately we're straying beyond my wallet now !

Just like governments do, they do a study, run a simulation, see if they can get away with it, (whatever it is) and if it looks like a "goer" and there's worthwhile £££ and / or advantage to them, they introduce it.....

I think you are looking at this from the wrong angle Steve. You can obviously do the job and you get on and enjoy the other members company. That's really all that matters.
And I'd imagine they very much appreciate and value you on that basis too.. As opposed to some "genius" prima donna who "knows it all" and is a total pain !
-
Can't see him taking 750 to 800 if he wants a grand for it but ? Probably best to seek for tatty lookers !

You can join facebook and remain pretty much anonymous. I joined for a couple of art groups and no-one knows I’m there. You’ll still get loads of “friend” requests from loads of people you don’t know but I just ignore them.
Cool..I don't really know how it works tbh as I've always shunned it ! I assume you have to join certain groups then to see their adverts... So what's the "bargain Stingrays" group then ?

Not a band, but I once had the privilege of jamming with Peter King.
Not an understatement to say I was out of my depth, but wow 😎
That's, I assume, the bloke who plays alto like Charlie Parker ?

If I were doing it I'd probably try the needle files tbh...

Keep looking on Facebook selling pages & eBay - they do come up from time to time (although £800 is probably more realistic on those sites).
I don't do facebook at all, but do check ebay quite frequently, tho if fb is the place they go, it'd almost be worth joining it just to look at the ads and nowt else ! ( i certainly wouldn't be "joining in" the discourse there
)
-
I'd certainly like to buy a 4 string basic, even tatty, US stingray for £700 odd quid if anyone's flogging one like that !

Yes ..it seems to have worked a treat ...thanks guys!
I'm really pleased it's helping! 👍 Another thing is to continue using it, maybe scaled down a bit, as "maintenance" even when symptoms have disappeared, hopefully that should stop it happening up again.
