Had a look in my account, the payment from evilbay seems to have gone in, minus the couple of quid fees, it doesn't say pending or anything so assume it's finalised and ok...gawd knows what happens if there's some dispute or whatever, i assume they just grab it back from you, as you've doubtless agreed to let them in the new "agreement" ...I certainly can't feel overly comfortable with the whole thing and as i said before I'll be far less likely to flog stuff on there in future. Be good if they saw a big downturn in people selling in the new regime and "reel their neck in" a bit, tho somehow I doubt it...

Well I had a cheapo six for a bit, it was certainly a lot of fun !.... I'm about the 180° antithesis of a royal college of music, jazz chords, theory type, last time I read any "dots" was at school !.... I got rid of the six after the initial novelty wore off though, I wasn't really doing anything with it so passed it on. I can see how a six would be a very good tool to originate stuff on, in the sense you come up with ideas you wouldn't have had on a 4 stringer. For me instruments that are a bit different interest me in that kind of direction rather than some kind of mega tecnical math muso malarkey... But as I've said elsewhere, I'm essentially just a hammer wielding thug !

Not a P bass if it has a J neck?

Absolutely correct, although you could perhaps substitute "Mofo" .... -

Also don't forget to reassure the facebog critics that it "plays like buttah.." -

Like the man alluded to, it's people talking bollocks on fizzbok...fk 'em, ignore them, no doubt your bass is a good 'un and is most certainly a P bass as described. I'm putting together a P bass with Jazz neck myself at the mo, tho it's a junk-parts-caster I'd 100% call that a P bass too. -

Sounds like they're spouting a load of hogwash to me.... it's a P bass with a Jazz neck, that's what it is... end of ! -
I had a phase of playing seated, I'd hunt round the venue for a tall bar stool type thing, it was ok but tbh it was more of a gimmick than anything.

I too only flog stuff when it's "£1 max selling fees". I've only flogged one thing since they did this new malarkey, ditched paypal and put it straight into your bank, I'll be interested to see how it pans out. I believe the idea is they take the fees out before you actually get the dosh or some such, and you don't get a demand for fees later on... Luckily I only sell the odd thing very occasionally, I'll be less likely to in future I'd think, the original thing with paypal worked fine really for what it was.

Not really sure at this "concept" stage, I rather fancy the wrecked look though, plus it would save a lot of fiddly finicky business too !

Good to know !... I'm not overly fussy with this kind of stuff so im sure they'll be perfect, as you say, at that price you can't go wrong.

Superglue is a great dodge 👍...wasn't it originally developed as a combat medic type thing for sticking wounds together ?

Good to know someone else has used scaff boards, 👍 ...I've been happy with it for on numerous non musical instrument things I've knocked together and thought it might do nicely. Will be a case of being selective & find some bits that aren't cracked or otherwise dodgy !

Scarily prescient... I was enquiring about scaff board this very morning !!

I'd probably not use a rick type bridge tbh, they're bluddy expensive for one thing, this will be Budgetsville, Bodge City.!.. This "creation" I'd prob carve the body from a chunk or rather several chunks of timber, scaff board is quite a decent spec timber I believe. I've somewhere got a rick shape template I drew on a bit of brown paper for just such a purpose.... A Rick shape would work quite well for this madness as it's a skinny flat thing anyway

I did a few (down tuned) gigs with one of those "Jack" headless basses quite a few years back, it was pretty good as I recall, somewhat different to the Rickenbacker 4001 I was slinging at that time... At the time the perverse thought occurred of doing a Rick shape headless.

Just make sure you get someone who agrees with you on all matters !....

Some would no doubt say "Hammer wielding thug = Bass Player" ... I'd have to confess they're probably spot on there.. !

Nice !...I had the desire to do a headless thing a while back, having seen yours I may well revisit the idea.. is the dramatically named overlord kit any good btw ? I fancied doing a Rickenfaker shape version, though it'd be minus the binding as I wouldn't have the patience to do that, plus I'm basically a hammer wielding thug anyway so wouldn't end well.

Why should every Bass Player worship Status Quo?

You should turn up with a Squier Bronco....

If you're going to be an "80s band", as I would understand it, with popular appeal to dear old Joe and Jo Public, its the way of the world that you'll have to have a good generous slice of "cheese" on the table...
